No hate. Just calling it for what it is. I've seen this. Designs are hijacked then mass produced in China then sold here for 1/2 the price of the domestic artisans/fabricators' versions. Sliders are another example: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/pts/5976568142.html I bought a pair but it didn't sit right with me. Don't get me wrong. They looked good but upon rather casual examination, you could easily detect the lower quaity workmanship. I sold them the next week (on CL) and ordered these from Brandon of Avid Off Road . Should be here in a week or so.

And your still not bringing anything that hasn't already been discussed (at great length) to the table.

Those weren't sliders anyway. They were body mounted steps.
When you tried to use them as sliders, you would've blamed them for being knock-offs, instead of blaming the oversight.

I also plan to get Avid's or 4x's real sliders, eventually.

No, didn't say what I did to "feel better". I was making a statement to add to this damned onslaught of people bashing someone selling a similar product (rip-off or not) at an affordable price.

I work for a manufacturing/fabrication facility, and know EXACT first hand costs of building one of the $1000 bumpers for less than $200. THAT'S the rip-off that you jaded people aren't seeing.
Let me follow that up...I love supporting this great nation and it's inhabitants, but that doesn't mean charge 4x the cost of something just because you can.

I have no problem with folks finding betters deals wherever they can (on Chinese crap or not). Again, it's when the small American fabricators create an original product that gets jacked by someone else (usually someone in the US with ties to Chinese manufacturing) and ebays these sub-quality parts; that's what doesn't sit well with me. I'm fortunate enough to have the means of being able to buy the original (higher quality - usually where fitment and finish are concerned - and yes, higher price) versions.

These two statements seem to be in contradiction.

Lol Basic Global business concepts consist of cutting costs and finding the better deal. It's how people get ahead while others don't.

Also pretty sure most people think of yeti as and all American company. I was making an observation of two pretty large threads both dealing with copies. Now let's get back to the shit show....

Yes, and AllPro didn't do that.

With YETI, they chose to have their cups made in China, where common practice for them is to steal the designs and then make it cheaper....but this is well known.

    Stolen is stolen.
