I own a 2nd Gen TRD Pro Tacoma with a 2" lift on the front and a 1.5" lift on the back I was wondering what the biggest tire I could fit was without it rubbing too much or having to cut or trim anything.

I only know about 16 inch wheels:

235/85r16 and 265/75r16 will both fit stock even without a lift.
255/85r16 will fit and I am guessing wouldn't rub under compression (but it might).
285/75r16 = probable pounding, cutting, etc.

With no cutting/trimming, 265's. You may be able to get 285s (33s) in there with no rubbing on the street, but it's unlikely. Some members have said they've been able to do this, but it's not the consensus. And it is guaranteed that if you flex you suspension offroad, you will rub.

Other factors may come into play with 33's and stock rims like rubbing on the upper control arms (UCAs). May need spacers. Check out Spidertrax 1.25" spacers. Also, cab mount usually needs to be chopped (search for threads on that). Then you would need to trim some of the plastic liner inside the wheel well, also a thread on that in here.

This right here.... anything bigger than 265/75R16 is going to need some amount of trimming.... 285/75R16 plan on cab mount chop, pinch weld flattening, and inner fender trimming / removal.

But you have rubbing right? I'm guessing you have at least a little if you haven't trimmed anything. I guess OP doesn't mind "too much rubbing" so maybe that's fine.

Also, once you stuff those tires @TegoTaco, I can't imagine you aren't going to rub. But OP, if you keep it on the streets, I guess this may work with very little rubbing.

    I've got 265 75 16 MT's and I rub in reverse sometimes. Haven't bothered trimming though.

No rubbing at all, had to remove the front flaps.

Oh I forgot to say my rims have offset so that plays a part in my rubbing.

    06 now with 4x4
    Some stuff here and there
    275/70/17
no rubbing forward/reverse full lock left/right (no front mudflaps though),
just fox coils at the time ( so level)
On stock steelies ( so no extra offset, or 0)

    Hope that helps! :)
