You can check out some of my pics from the weekend on my IG @tacopromatt

Gotta say it was pretty awesome seeing BJ Baldwin in his ridiculous Tundra making his way up the creek right by our campsite. I have a video of that on my IG. I did get to talk to Andy Bell a bit at the tower on Saturday night when he complimented my truck. He was there with the Baldwin/Monster group. I told him "the commercial worked" (check out the Tacoma Pro Alaska video on Youtube to understand) and he got a big kick out of that, brought his boss/producer over to chat Toyota and TRD Pro, gave us some hats, etc. They are working on a new video/movie where they took a Tacoma TRD Pro to Vietnam. Looking forward to seeing that.

Sorry I never ran into you guys or made it up to Area B to hang out. Was pretty busy all weekend with group of friends in Area 51 with wheeling, shooting, cooking, picking up people at the gate, etc.

Free hats!? Bummer I missed it haha.

Hey- what bedrail CB antenna mount do you use? I think I'm gonna move my antenna forward and put the box either in the center console or the glovebox. The fuse panel area is not working for me.

    It's a Relentless Fabrication mount: http://www.relentlessfabrication.com/collections/toyota/products/05-tacoma-bed-rail-mount-tab

Glovebox is a bit tight in the 2nd gens. I had mounted my Cobra 75WXST "box" behind it in my 07 and it was a bit of a pain. I'd recommend the center console if your radio is small enough, and if you run an external speaker.

Sweet. I might throw it in some open space under the a/c controls around the center area and just leave the wire hookup hidden-but-available for when I hit the trails. Too many wires (with my gawdawful wiring jobs) over by that fuse panel for that CB box to fit there comfortably.

I had ECGS build my front diff with gears and the locker so it was pretty much a straight swap. Shipped the original back for my core deposit. Allot easier than doing a tear down and assembly.

Hey y'all only been on the forum since October. It's nice to see that this thread stays busy. Wanted to see if any of y'all get together regularly to go wheeling? Got a TRD Sport I've been dying to engage the 4WD on!!!

Just picked up a 2wd drive 2nd gen. Are there any trails around austin that would be okay with a 2wd?

I don't know where this triangle you speak of is. There is a spot just off of 35 South of the IKEA in RR that has some trails. CP is close to Lago, and there are some trails out there that a 2wd can handle. Maybe @AtxLakeTaco or @CedarPark can point you in the right direction.

You need to join us next time. Although it looks like you have side steps? If so they gotta go. We had to take a pit stop on a trail to remove someone's this past trip.

    Welcome aboard!

Isn't much legal in my neck of the woods. By Volente beach is the fire department. To the left is a small opening that leads to a trail, you won't spot it unless you're looking. Go up a little bit, it'll branch off left right and forward. Left eventually you hit a fence and fight you'll hit old no trespassing signs, but I haven't risked it. Keep going straight you'll find yourself a steep climb, no obstacles just a little hill. Gotten 2WD pickups up but they had to commit a bit. At the top is an awesome view of Lake Travis. It isn't much wheeling but I'll take girls and picnic up there frequently.
