I have trouble with large caliber compact pistols. Have put quite a few rounds thru my buddies Kimber Ultra 3" but I just can't seem to manage the flip.

My just be the grip , I have one that I had to replace the grips on as the hammer was biting the web of my thumb and forefinger. But I have been shooting .45 for many many years.

Oh I do like my .45's but the smallest I have is my commander sized 1911. Full size frame with 4.25" barrel.

The .45 I changed the grips on is a 3" barreled Star PD changed the grips from OEM walnut to Pachmayr wrap around. It helps maintain Site alignment with minimal flip also changed to a 180 gr from 230 gr rounds. Easily handled . My full size ones are much easier of course but time and practice fixes a lot .

I have this issue. My hands are pretty small so if a compact doesn't fit me right it tries to run away. The steeper the grip angle, the worse it gets. Rubber grips help like crazy too.
