Damn I have wanted to go to KOH for years! Never been able to make it... I would love to go and watch Atleast and check it out, would be so badass! Doubt I will have my RTT at that time though. And I have 16 credits this semester. Maybe I could pull the same shenanigans as @4Running Daily and sleep in my cab. Next year hopefully I'll be towing a fully built 1 tons yota with my taco and RTT.. goals that must be met

My previous 2 trips ended up just sleeping in the backseat (1 trip in 2G Taco DCLB, last year in PW).

I'm all for big built Yotas. But I tried towing my lightweight buggy with my 1st gen.

It might be dumb for me to drive there and then turn around basically, but KOH was probably my favorite event of last year.

I originally planned with toyota front axle but then thinking about it i would rather go 1 tons and gear down and hardly ever break shit down the road. Probably just buggy it right off the cab so it's straight up an exo'd cab. Try to make it lighter. Also will have to probably make a trailer or find one with only runners, so that the trailer is as light as possible. I want to tow with my tacoma as I do not tow every day or even every weekend. Maybe once a month or so. I can justify 6MPG every once in awhile , other than that not towing usually.

I've got a FToy Buggy that is an 84 Yota pickup with the entire body removed and a tube chassis on top with all Toyota running gear and 37s. Honestly in the low 3xxx lb range.

I got a standard 16' wood deck flatbed that is probably in the low 2xxx range. Pulling a few 2x6s wouldn't make a noticeable difference. And steel decks weigh more than wood.

I towed with my 99 Taco 2 times from North Phoenix to Table Mesa. 3.4 v6, 5speed, 33x10.50s, steel bumpers and sliders. Braking and Control was somewhere between Not Fun and SKETCHY.

Payload (RTT/rack/gear/tongue weight) and Towing Capacity can't be doubled up on. If you are towing at the limit, the truck needs to be pretty stripped down/empty.

Put the Taco up for sale and bought a V10 Dodge 2500. So so much more stable and easy. Now up to a new Ram 2500 Power Wagon.

Well new rubber showed up today, not nearly enough time to get them on before we leave tho. Kind of bummed but oh well, rather take my time and make sure they fit the way they should
