Better to ask what I have not done.
Open the garage door, jack up axle to spring, get food and place exactly diagonal to the direction the bear will come in at, to how the axle needs to move, sit just behind food with pistol in good hand, wait tell bear comes in and shoot it in the toe then the bear will charge at the axle knocking it into place, make sure the bear is not pissed off enough to just eat the food or make sure you have an exit strategy :hattip:

I owe you fine Sirs a beer.

Jacked up rib on my right side, strange looking red left hand finger and throbbing shin... Damn truck. But i guess if you ain't bleeding you ain't working. I should probably clean off this cut with some white innard meat hanging from it. :/

I've never heard anyone talk about shooting there. From looking at Google imagery it looks like a little bit of a box canyon. Go too far up and I see spurs off of Kelly Flats, so I doubt there's much in the way of hikers. It also doesn't look like it'd be long enough for rifles. It is FS land. Now, from the pull off near Dutch George, that looks like it has a trail to it.

The only place I've been shooting up there and was clearly a well-used shooting area is (or was, this was before the fire and flood, back in 2010) closer in. You turn off on Stove Prairie Rd, go up about a quarter mile and park on the right. You have to walk up along the road a bit and then it angles away up Skin Gulch. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6756195,-105.3899881,238m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en if that works. You're free to shoot a 1/4 mile from the road (which also makes me think the other spot only 30-40 yards in wouldn't be valid), though again, it's not got a lot of distance for a rifle. We were there with handguns, and there was another group who did have at least one long gun. They only fired a couple of times though.

I found out that home depot now carries 3/4" shackles for 8 bucks each, they are rated at 9500 lbs. Will that be OK for our rigs? I bought 2 of em.

Awesome, after the recovery class if you want to call it that I'm really trying to make sure I have the right gear, that now makes 3 of the shackles one soft shackle and a good strap... man I've got quite a ways to go still.

Well the AAL seems to have added an inch to the rear clearance. I didnt drive it anywhere though so maybe it'll settle.

But I still have a 1-1.5" lean to the drivers side. Its only 0.5" in the front.

I also painted my high performance brake drums that originally matched the Moab sand.

    Dog, camper.
I know that Stove Prairie spot well. That used to be a 4x4 trail several decades ago, complete with rustic cabin. I have driven on it and camped back there.
Then the road was shut down, and the cabin burnt down, both unrelated.
That area was washed out from the flood, I haven't been back there to look since. Might have to take a dog and a shotgun for a walk, for recon purposes.

The clouds are creeping up through the trees to the west. Quite cool to watch... And feel.
