That plate is for the third gens. The oil filter is right there.

 

Still gotta do some finishing touches. Clean up wiring, sand and carpet box ect. But for now BOOM BOOM!
I wanted to have an angled box but it was impossible to reach the volume necessary.

Picked up the same speakers. How long did it take you to install these? I haven't opened up my door yet so not sure what I'll be facing once I do. Did you need any mounting brackets?

Or do what I did and rip out the old cone from the factory speaker and glue the new one to the frame

Don't use a heat gun. Quick way to mess up the paint. Use a hair dryer to warm it up, then use floss or fishing line to cut it off. Then goo gone and a microfiber towel to get off the remnants.

I bought a hair dryer from a goodwill for 5 bucks just to use to debadged my tailgate.

Found though that the "plastic" floss that I like broke way too easily but luckily I had some 20# fishing line hanging around which worked like a charm.

The GooGone helped but MAN, the foam double stick adhesive that Toyota used 10 years ago on my truck was a bitch to get off. There was some ghosting left from the adhesive but after waxing and polishing it was gone enough that unless you looked at it at juuuussst the right angle, it was hardly noticable.

It took meffect long enough to do the rear that I just left the tacoma badges in the sides. If anyone wants/needs some badges (toyota, sr5, v6 or tacoma), let me know and I'll drop them in the mail!

 

Yup, I also used paint thinner.
