Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty

Just wanted to pass along some helpful info in case anyone is shopping for an extended warranty,

You can buy out of state which is a nice savings on tax alone - not a lot of people know that or even have that thought cross their mind.

I emailed a total of 43 dealerships IIRC,
My best deal came from the gentlemen below.

Now I know someone will ask or say, "Are you sure your allowed to buy the warranty out of state? I thought Toyota did away with that." It would appear that this is not the case, I already know many people that have bought from Brian and have inquired about this to him.

"Being that your truck is within its original factory coverage, there is no issue with offering the Platinum Warranty to out-of-state buyers. It is the valid Toyota's manufacturer's coverage, and will be honored by all Toyota dealers in the U.S. ad Canada - but not Puerto Rico or any outlying U.S. territories".

In the large group of inquires I sent out, 95% of them were out of state. I specifically stated my residing state, not one responded that they were not able to fulfill the request due to this.

Just for the background, I had a 08 Tacoma a while back and traded in for a Tundra. 2014 SR5 CM 4x4 5.7L. Brian was able to beat the closest competitor by $300-400 IIRC for my truck.

I bought mine at the time of purchase on my 2015 for $900.00, it was for a 7 Year/100.000 mile warranty. No need to go out of State just need to know how to tell them they are full of shit and trying to rip you off.

 

I'll agree with 08pretaco. I called Brian and his price is better than anyone else that I have talked to. Even Jerry at Midwest Toyota doesn't come close to Brian's price.

 

Jerry was on my long list as well, I believe he might have been the 2nd or 3rd runner up.

Give Brian a call. He's been really busy and Brandon (another finance mgr that works with him) might answer or call ya back. He gave me the same deal. I'm not comfortable putting the price on here. I just promise that it's worth the phone call.

 

I'm not in the market but always good to know! I bought mine from and referred several people to Jerry but then the internet buying of Toyota VSCs seemed to have a rule change and you could only buy from dealers in state where vehicle purchased. I had called Jerry awhile back ( 1-2 years ago??? ) and at that time he was only selling in state and it seemed like others had quit also with the exception of someone that was a Lexus dealer. I know a lot of members don't buy these but I do and will if price is right for me and Jerry's were IMO. I'm guessing Brian could be used for any Toyota purchase, anyone know if there was a change in Toyota Financial Services policies or maybe it was never disallowed? I'm curious now, may try to contact TFS next week and see what's up. OP thanks for posting.

I have sent Brian an email, I will be picking up my '17 TRD OR 4D LB on March 1st from a different dealer in Colorado. It will interesting to see what my dealer gives me for a quote vs Brian.

I sent Bryan an email about a week ago and have yet to hear back.

PM those people directly. Most prices for certain things should not be posted online or they will shut it down. Kind of like if you trade in a vehicle and buy a new one but get a great price for the new one. Dealers will pad the trade in price to keep the market price high on the new car.

 

I got a price here in Pennsslvania 1600.00 4year 125,000. I think i can do better i hope. That will cut into my Groupbuy spending And @ramonortiz55 and @Mobtown Offload won't like that.

Its all a matter what package you want for what model truck..

I shopped thru Brian, Jerry, and other known dealers, Jerry was able to get me the best price.

 

I'm guessing it has to do w the mood as well lol
