Clay bar or compound will take off the ghosting. But then you'll want to do the whole truck.

Yeah I needed to get mounting brackets, picked them up from best buy:

You can probably find something better online, but these worked fine for me.

The new title came in today, so it's official. I've installed the Paid-It-Off mod! Certainly the most expensive one yet...

    Too few to list.
I added an entry level kicker component speakers as well. Not sure if it's the speakers or the sound deadning giving it a little more thump. It's really worth it to apply sound deadning to the doors and the back of the cab.

You're not kidding about that foam double stick adhesive.... I debadged my tailgate and found that the adhesive actually took little chips of paint off and now you can see where the letters were just from those little chips in the paint. You can't really see them unless you're close up and looking for it, but it did remove clear coat and paint down to the primer

Did you warm it up and soak it in GooGone or paint thinner or gasoline first?

I actually had to scrape the shit off using a piece of scrap PET "clamshell packaging" that I had laying around... Definitely don't want to use anything hard but something that's stiffer and more resiliant than human fingernails. I pretty much FUBAR'd mine before looking around the garage for an alternative.

Yeah, no way I'm spending the time clay barring my truck because it would be negated the very first bush I went past on my next trail run (hopefully this weekend).
I just figure the fine layer of dirt that I've let accumulate will hide it, and honestly a 10+ year old truck with all it's dings, dents and scratches I just don't give a fuck if it looks "shiny", HAHA.

    RE: Speakers...
I just did my rear door speakers (did the fronts about 2 months ago) and while I was in there put some PeelNSeal around the edges of the holes in the doors where the speakers mounted.
I'm fully planning on doing the entire doors and also got some "floor vapor/deadening matting foam" to use as dampener. It's basically a HDF material very similar to what people use as dampening material but only 18 bucks for 100 sq. ft. vs. $$$. It might not work but I'm going to give it a shot.

I got my rear speakers "Rockford Fosgate Punch 6.5" from Crutchfield and although they could have been found cheaper on Amazon, Crutchfield threw in the mounting adapters, wire adapters and they came with some cute little 1" tweeters that I haven't figured out how to use yet, LOL. Rockford Fosgates aren't the best by any means but an improvement over the paper coned OEM ones that fit my current Oontz-Oontz budget.
