which is where it should be. And exactly the way the RK Sport hood is set up. You'd honestly spend WAY more time and money trying to turn a factory OR hood into a functioning ram air hood than it would cost to just buy a new one.

If you want a big hole that sucks in air and also serves a purpose maybe consider a snorkel? The ARB safari is definatly a very "truck looking" intake. Only problem is most either love the look or hate it. I like it:anonymous:

Yeah. I don't really care for the look of the snorkel and I think it takes away from the natural look in going for. I think I'm going to wait and purchase a sport hood or ram hood when I get some of my other projects done. Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Honestly man if you didn't tell me that hood scoop wasn't factory I probably wouldn't it is after market because I think it looks pretty clean. If you can get it straight and bolted down good then I would do it if I were you. You could also throw a 17'' led bar in there to hide some of the gray inlay and I think it would look legit.

Yes, this would be great if you wanted to have a both a hood scoop AND lightbar that are both completely useless. ;)

Bit the bullet and ordered both the sunroof deflector and the bug deflector from Amazon.
I am a little worried that the sunroof deflector will be glossy and the bug deflector will be matte finish.....
Do you have any advise about that?

Actually the inlay is a matte black. I just have it propped up because of the two tabs in the front of the hood scoop so it probably looks gray. It would actually sit pretty low to the hood.

Please clarify how the LED bar would be useless if he were to wire it up?
I mean yeah he is not going to be lighting up the grand canyon or anything but for aesthetics it looks pretty bad ass. Plus, the one I have on my truck is pretty bright.

the glare it would have off the of hood would be a major hindrance not to mention the hood itself would greatly reduce the throw and spread of the light. Essentially you'd be cutting off the entire bottom of the beam. But, if you want that Niteride look, by all means. Just not practical light bar placement for optimal performance.

Bye the way, "he" is actually a she ;)

Did you install this yourself? I have not been able to find anyone in the LA area to do this. I can probably do it, but for the time it will take me to do it, I'd rather pay for the professional install.

Sounds like a good plan. I don't really care about the "natural look". In fact I'm gonna go check out the bolt-ons over at the open in Scottsdale this afternoon lol. :yay:

If you have push-to-start, the dball is cheap and a fairly easy install. Myself and quite a few others have successfully self-installed it. If you're not comfortable soldering in confined areas, some have also used posi-taps (24-26AWG) with success. If you want to improve your range, you can either add an rf extender/second remote or a Smart Start. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ing-oem-fob-2017-tacoma-push-to-start.466230/
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/remote-start-kit-for-2016-2017-tacomas-in-stock.464235/

For those with keyed ignitions, there's also a couple threads on the Fortin Evo One. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fortin-evo-one-remote-start-install-guide-info.413104/
