    08. I think its the same car except the 09's have a different tail light. For an additional 4K (estimated taxes) I don't think its worth it.

its really up to you.... depending on the money you want to spend, i think insurance will be cheaper on the 08 as well

Well, you can get an aux ipod adapter for $50 that will charge your Ipod and play any of the mp3 players. I'm not too sure of what additional safety features the 09's come with besides atrac. The tinted headlights....who cares. And you already know what I (actually most of us) think of the tails.

In '09 you get the safety stuff, which is becoming standard. Your call on that one. Seems like everyone hates the taillights of the '09s. For $50 you can do your own ipod hookup with a Metra kit, see the A/V section. There's a backup camera, but otherwise I don't think there was much else different, see the thread in this section for more details.

The 09 had ATRAC, side curtain bags, maybe something else

I would go for the 08. Like everyone else said you can just do the BHLM and get an iPod Adapter.

Also if you want the backup camera you could probably get a much better one with some of the money you saved from not getting the 09.

Actually, the biggest difference (to me) would be the side air bags and stability control.

Not saying you gotta buy an 09, just sayin that's a difference. :)

safety is definitely a big factor. with that being said, my 08 has the side air bag which means you can get it as an option. Also, I think you have much more negotiating room with an 08. From my understanding if you really want an 09, they will probably have some type of special on it this month so go ask your local dealer.

If it were me, I buy the 2008. Thats my vote for all the reasons already stated by those who said buy the 08.

the 08s are good,,, they are going out fast cause the dealer wants to get rid of them
plus u get a better APR and rebates and stuff!
also gthe 08 has better color then the 09... the choices are horrible on the 09

the tail lights on the 09 is not bad at all.... they LED lights, they last so much longer then the regular lights...

I must admit the 09 safety feature is pretty good. side air-bags and like stability control

If you get a good deal on the 09 and a good financing from a bank
isn't so bad after all... the back camera thing is kind of retarded since the screen is so damn small!
but them again, haves the hassle putting on the 08's

It all depends mainly on the color you want and your budget! There aren't any major differences but 09's have some great new colors!

    good call, genxer...

I was going to say that the '08 price looked a little high. A good buddy of mine got a brand new '08 two months ago for $2.5k less than what the dealer quoted you (Dbl cab, TRD Off Road... they even threw in a bed mat and all-weather floor mats). I know things are different in different areas of the country, but I still think there's a lot of room in that '08 number.

Is it a prerunner? The OP just said TRD sport. The 4k diff could be 4WD?
