Simple fix, angle it upwards. Besides, the HP gain for a functional hood scoop is more than likely not even worth the cost.

Sooo you'd be lighting up the sky and not straight out in front where you'd actually need it?

Sweet! Any golf I've seen there is purley incidentle. I'm not a big fan of golf due to the fact I'm not very good at it but I do respect the sport as a perfectly reasonable excuse to be hammered drunk at 830 in the morning lol

I was a little worried too since I had gotten the bug deflector first but the sunroof deflector is pretty low profile so it didn't look bad at all. But if it really bothers you you can get some smoke color Plasti dip and give it one coat to reduce the glossiness.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but are light bars legal on-road? I'm in Ky if that makes a difference.

I'm still waiting for it to get here, but I will be installing this myself. Hoping to see it by Friday. The last system I did similar to this in my dads 2012 TX pro took me about a half day or so. Many years ago, I used to install for a living.

I think if you look closely at these things you'll find the Off Road Use Only disclaimer on them. Just like After market LED bulbs in the Headlights!

Part of me wants to like it, but I must admit I've never seen a stick-on scoop that really looked good. This one looks like it could be close, but I wouldnt recommend it. Certainly not going to do it to mine no matter how bad I want a Sport Hood with a scoop.

I'm all for light bars for offroad use but if you use them on road it's pretty douche.IMO

hmm...what happens to a functional hood scoop/engine when you drive through mud holes or puddles that splash up onto the hood?

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
There is usually a water catch with drain if properly designed. Don't know about mud tho.

Look. This is your truck and you mod it the way you like it. I think, since you have it on hand and it is painted and paid for, it really will look decent. I personally would try to work around the drilling and bolting with some type of adhesive that will allow you to remove it later. Why spend upwards of $700 for another hood that has a non-functional hood scoop. This is your cheapest route to take. If you do it right it will look fine. If you are waiting for people to vote on it then you might as well sell the scoop and wait for a possible swap later. If you can find an adhesive way to mount it you will have the look you want with the option of removing it with minimal damage to your current hood. At worst you may need to put a black stripe kit on the hood later, or plasti-dip the hood, to cover any paint damage from the adhesive. It all comes down to what YOU want. I have a neighbor, in his mid 60's, who put a cheesy looking scoop, and I do mean CHEESY, on a 2002 4 door Taurus. Looks like crap. But he has had it on there for over 6 years now. Apparently he likes it. So why should I care how it looks.
