Mines not wired but I have the full harness. When I pulled it from the PO's truck, it was wired into the driverside taillight.

Don't cut. Just use quick splice connectors.

wow that sounds like a hell of a lot more work than just wiring it into the tail light!

I took mine to leonard to do mine when I had it. When we removed it, it was just a wire tap to some wire in the tail light

I did however drill a hole in the bed to get the wires to the taillights (well leonard did).

i did the quick splices too, IIRC. attached to the drivers side brake light wires. i did wire it to a 4 flat connector inside the shell to quick disconnect when needed. also wired the inside dome light through that 4 flat as well.

cool. ill have to search for that. I don't have the 7 pin harness though. it is a pain to have to have the headlights on in order to turn on the damn dome light. when I ordered I asked for all battery powered and didn't get them...

you are probably wired for it until it reaches the tailgate area and has the connector to attach the the final 12" or so w/ the 7 pin on it. look for a decent sized bundle that's capped/connectored off.

ill take a look. although I had to hook up my trailer connections to the driver side taillight too. but that may just be because I didn't want to buy the OEM connectors.

If I have time I will pull the driver tail light tonight, and see which wire has damage from removing the wire tap that was on mine.
