I am going with 235s for mine

 

The 235s, tall and skinnies, might be the tallest you can go without having to break out the BFH. Sounds like it's a truck by truck basis on whether or not you'll need the BFH for the 255s(true 33s), my fave tall and skinny.

 

I admit I'm favoring the skinnies. Ideally, I'd have 255s. I just the other day watched some Camel Trophy video from 1996. They ran skinnies for sure, and it's hard to argue they didn't have enough tire. They went through waaaay more crap than I ever plan on going trough.

 

Found a set for $130

I had to go to Houston to get my H3 wheels which was worth it.

 

Gotta be someone on here doing that drive in the next few weeks that'd be willing to help out for a 12 pack or, in your California state, a 20 spot of medicinal mj.... Lmao

 

Drive isn't issue

I drove up to Reno over a weekend once to get some parts

This seller wants it gone before the weekend and I can't make the drive before then

 

The H3 wheels, did you need spacers to move them out enough or was the original backspacing good enough?

I have color matched steelies on my 2nd gen. I'm going to plasti dip them black. I think I'll like the contrast better. Also needs aggressive tires.

Remember on ih8mud the 'mudship' section? Where members would post up what they're looking to get and where, and then others that had a trip coming up could see if they could help somehow? I used it a couple times and was hella cool and met some awesome folks during the process. I wonder if that's something TW would be interested in setting up? A little sub forum or something.

These wheels are why I bought this truck. Didn't want to look like every other Tacoma out there.

 

And what your budget will allow. I'm trying to be kind to my wallet and putting money where it counts. I really like the SCS Ray 10s. But in (my) reality, there is no practical advantage over steel (other than maybe weight) that would justify the extra expense. $hit, I still have bumpers to buy.

 

Plus, I meant on that particular truck. Silver, and the softopper, that taco is screaming to have white steelies put on. Nice looking taco Gary.
