bumpers for 1st gens

With a front bumper and rear bumper, suspension change is a must?

 

Yeah, especially with that mileage on the original. I've only installed a suspension lift on a second gen, didn't really need it, customer just wanted to be taller. That being said, from what I've gather here, it sounds like for your needs; front springs - OME 880, front shocks - OME nitro chargers or Billies 5100 set at bottom or next step up, rear set up, not too positive. Maybe just add a leaf to existing, or new stock height leaf pack and then matching to the front OME or Billies rear shocks. Minimal lift but refreshing the suspension. Minimal lift so you don't get into that world of vibes and funky angles that need correcting, etc.

yes you'll want coils that can hold the weight. The stock coils are 500lb progressive rate. Yours are so worn the top 3 coils are probably touching. They aren't 500lb anymore.

You'll need something to hold the weight if you plan on that plate bumper.

Only the TRD suspensions came with progressive coils. I doubt his are progressives. Still worn out tho.

 

Mine where progressive on Igor. Not a TRD.

Grant 4runner wasn't. Put those coils on my Moms taco rides way better.
