yeah, but 30s man. Out here there is a thing where you can buy faux 30 round magazines that are pinned to only allow 10 rounds. People at the range are funny. It's easy enough to drill out the pin and have full capacity, but a smart citizen wouldn't risk it if they weren't allowed.

Edit: 30 rds are $.10 cheaper than 10 rounders...

So in building my 8.5in billet 300AAC SBR I stumbled across a question. My dpms lpk came with a bolt catch, looks like a standard bolt catch. My JBO billet spartan lower comes with a threaded bolt catch pin (yey no roll pin BS) and a bolt catch also. The one from the JBO does not look standard at all. Any info on which one I should use because I have to modify the bolt catch and my extended bolt release because my YHM upper wont fit it without mod and im not gonna remachine my upper just for an extended bolt catch release. I also dont think i can even use the dpms one because the threaded pin looks bigger than a standard roll pin size.

top is DPMS stock bolt release, bottom is JBO that comes with billet lower.

second photos shows dpms lug in more detail, top photo shows the single extruding lug on the JBO bolt catch.

Good looking build, but I think you may have answered your own question. Why not use the bolt catch that came with the lower because it does not have to be modified to fit and it came with the lower? One of the main differences I see in the bolt catch designs is a minimalized mag lock (not sure of the nomenclature here, but the small tab that contacts the follower on an empty magazine to lock the bolt open after firing your last round) It's a little hard to see in the picture, but it looks like it's still there, just in a smaller profile. If anything that is most likely a design change from JBO and I don't think it should affect function.
    :notsure:

Had consistent hits at 700 yards today, pretty good for a 'lil ,223 and me behind it :)
Pic's shows 300 yards on the right, 400 yards with a 6" head swinger (harder to hit) near the left/middle and 700 yards on the left.

Thank you, hope my paperwork gets back before march, money was taken aug. 26th and its pending now. I dont have to modify the bolt catch itself, I have a troy ambi bolt release that i want to install on the rifle, unfortunately my yhm upper does not come with a milled out area for the ambi boltcatch to fit so i have to modify the troy bolt release to attach which means i have to drill and tap two holes in the bolt catch itself to attach it without the back plate. That's the only reason im asking, I dont want to install the JBO bolt catch and then have it not hold open. And the ledge that allows the bolt to catch back on empty mag is not there, it's just rounded off compared to the dpms one with a tapered ledge that sticks out.

Does anybody have any experience with the Bushnell Elite 1-mile CONX combo with the kestrel?
Are the shooting solutions any good? Would it be good for shooting solutions over 1000 yards?
