Ha! Well a few places sell this kit (rails and two load bars), so they are the geniuses. I dig it though. Less expensive than the full rack, and I just didn't need the full rack anyways

For me, cable harnesses and wire colors were the same. Having said that, mine's a '14 AC with the non-nav, non-Jbl HU. Not sure how it would go with a second gen Jbl.

    NO!

I tried to do that at first, but that was too involved and potentially damaging to other wires in the harness.

I simply insulated the terminals and tucked the OEM wires out of sight. No one can tell they are there.

I was looking into that set up until I came across a BAJA flat cab rack for a song. I have a 50" radius LED bar that serves as a fairing. ;)

believe it or not, WD-40 worked really well for getting what was left of the double stick tape off. using what ever you would like to scrape it off. i used a plastic squeegee such as used to apply decals or what not and it didn't hurt my silver paint at all, you'll have to use a rag to get the final little bit off though.

i love waxing my truck, both for the shine and protection. but most importantly, that water that beads right off. probably one of my favorite things ever.

I used braided fishing line, then soaked the residue with vegetable oil. Have a beer and wait a half hour. Final clean up with WD 40.

Trust me, it works. No need for Goo Gone or hair dryers.

Crap, your paper originals are better than mine. I think that my 2012 OEM ones are made out of used Starbucks coffee cups, and wired with waxed string.

    No shit.

Had a buddy with access to CNC and fabricators at his company make me up some RTT mounts for Slimline Rack and Brackets for awning to side of rack.
Included specs incase someone else was interested in making.
For the RTT mounts Ill use hardware with RTT to attach to underside of bracket. The mountain holes align perfectly with t slot in two of front runner tracks. (same idea as the Front Runner RTT mounts as they sell, these were free though)
Once they installed this weekend ill post some more pics.
    Made out of 1/4 aluminimum

I love waving my truck too. It's finding the time to do it that gets me. But I love waxing it because it keeps the bird shit off my truck. You can't see it in the picture but right above my truck there is a big light that we keep on at night for various reasons....the down side? It attracts every bug in the world. What's bad about that? There are birds. Birds everywhere. They like to sit on my tires and eat the abundance of bugs. They sit on the tailgate and shit all night with their bellies full of bug guts. Then they go sit up under the roof and laugh and tell jokes with all their bird friends while they shit on the hood of my truck.
    Rant over
