I was searching the forum but didnt find what I was looking for. I am interested to see if anyone has done or if we can do a mod to hook up an auxilliary battery. For all the extra shit we run on our Taco's.

Only a handful of people have done it, Just because it can get pricey. But yes silverback07 has done it.

He's got his in his toolbox, I believe. Its a VERY clean install. I've wanted to do it for a while, but things change.

It is pretty neat but I am electrically retarded. I would need a thorough write up.

i've been planning one for mine for a long time now.. only difference is i'm either going to mount my battery under the hood or under the bed. i'm not willing to give up my tool box space for it. most likely it will end up under the bed though as the engine bay is pretty crowded already.

How do you plan on mounting it under the bed? I want to make mine accessible and well marked in case of a wreck or fire, they know where the batteries are and easy to disconnect.

i'll make a mount for it under there... it wont really be all that easy to access but how often should you really need to fool with it anyways?? plus since i'll be using an optima i can mount it upside down so that the terminals are still easy to reach without moving the battery.

and from a firefighter background.. in the event of a fire.. well everythings gonna be all f'd up anyways so you really don't worry to much about the batteries then. in the event of a wreck.. we would typically disconnect the battery to prevent fire/airbag deployment but thats easily taken care of by putting a disconnect under the hood for the aux battery.

I would have to have some sort of disconnect, cuz I hate not being able to disconnect the battery, air bags scare the shit out of me on wrecks and fires. It sounds like you have a good plan though. I wanted to get this set up before I get my winch installed, but I dont think I will have it done in time.

Its just like BMW, MB, VW, and others. The battery is located in the truck next to the spare tire.

My dad had a 93 Pontiac Bonneville Series 1. Supercharged.........

Not it but it looked JUST like it:
