Hi all, been lurker for awhile and this site has been a great help doing some mods to my tacoma. Figured one of you might be able to help me with this problem I'm having.

I just plasti dipped my wheels black, and that worked fine, but I want to paint the Toyota emblem on the wheel cap white. I have seen some on here red, but I can't figure out the best way to paint them. I removed the caps from the rim, but the white plasti dip wont give good edges on the the emblem. Should I paint them white first then taped them off and paint the rest black, or do any of you have a better idea?

    thanks in advance!

If i remember correctly the chrome toyota piece clips onto the silver center cap. Should be able to remove the toyota logo and paint them individually.

Mine pops off using a couple of clips on the back. I have seen some that don't though. If yours doesn't, tape is probably the best bet.

20161108_125319.jpg I have 17" sport rims. The chrome logo comes off the center cap easy. Flip the cap over and using some pliers gently squeeze the tabs together and the cap should separate from the logo.

Urs are the ones I was talking about. I don't think mine come off easy. Looks like the tabs are glued in good. I attached a pic, is this how yours looked before?

I am OK with plastidipping stuff, but do not go listing all the things you have dipped as mods.

Buddy said a white paint pen and draw it on would be easiest, anyone ever tried this?

I would most likely break out the painters tape and a nice razor blade. Once you get it taped spray paint it.

I would want to use that for the logos, rather than spraying them. Personally, i would pain them white, with my wheels being black baja wheels(not the one with beadlocks), and my truck blue.

This will probably be your best bet. Goto a local parts store and they should have some different widths of tape to help mask everything off. Just take your time and ensure you've covered everything you don't want the new color to get onto and then be patient and make sure the new paint is nice and dry before you start pealing off the tape.

I would have a tough time using the razor blade and not scratching anything.
Just realized my logos are engraved onto the centercaps themselves.

Well I ended up just getting a white paint pen and it worked well. Here's a pic of it drying.
