I really should have waited and gotten a 65 instead of the 45qt. it works pretty well for maybe a 2 day camping trip, but I normally have to take two coolers... RTIC just for food stuff and then another just for drinks. Which is not bad for events where I camp at once spot the entire time, but if I am moving all the time two coolers just take up room.

Okay, I'm jealous. When will you go and how long will you be on the trail. I want specifics.

I'm took a big chance and submitted for earlier than I really wanted. Have been denied daily for about two weeks now... start is July 19. I've allotted 28 days but that's because I needed to just put something on the permit. I'm planning 25 so I can take my time and enjoy!

Buy a hand made one from Dutchware gear. 11ft and a bunch of fabric options.

Would be fun. How are the bugs that time of year.

Don't know if I'd be suited for hiking every day, I'd probably want (have) to hike a day then wander in an area for two days before moving to the next short term base.:) I garnered the nickname of 'Pokey' in my early days cause that is what I did.

Bugs... there's no reliable way to determine how they'll be. We're also seeing some good snow depth. Not sure how that will play out into summer.

Living here right outside Yosemite, gives me the chance to dawdle around different trails at my leisure. The JMT I'll just have to mow thru...

They're horrible here too. I've seen clouds of them just waiting for hikers

Mosquito season only lasts for about two weeks; the when is determined by early or late snow melt and can vary by almost a month. Mid July generally will be the worst of it.

I like these additional poles that extend out the front and back adding head room.

Haha, yep. I have a Bison 50 and run into the same problem. You don't realize how relatively small they are for the actual size of them.

Yep... luckily I won a pretty good AO Cooler not to long ago, so for trips that will be the drink cooler... plus since I really only need a big cooler for beer... I just can just not drink beer but have other things.

I know... but on the trails and trips you have to conserve space... so I think liquor would be a better option.
