I didn't say that, but we shouldn't have to live in fear either. Are we supposed to just let him kick our @$$ until the police show up? Ok so stay in the truck and lock the doors. Then he attempts entry into the truck, or breaks out the window. What then?

U-turn in the middle of the road. Pursuit of my vehicle. Passing my vehicle, blocking roadway. Sharp corner behind me making it dangerous to reverse out of current position. Dark. Two occupants in offending vehicle. Drivers side door of offending vehicle facing away from front of my vehicle. Cannot see what or if driver has anything in his hands. Verbal threats. Advancement toward my vehicle while yelling mentioned threats. Firearm drawn with command issued of "STOP. GET BACK IN YOUR VEHICLE.". Situation defused. Everyone goes on their merry way.

    These are the facts.

You've just explained an entirely different situation.

Different states have different laws for the way you're LEGALLY allowed to defend yourself. Shooting an unarmed man who has not harmed you in any way(besides hurt feelings)is MURDER.

Obviously a completely different situation, but look at Zimmerman/Martin. Zimmerman was(allegedly)getting his face and head beat repeatedly before he pulled his firearm and used deadly force. He still was VERY close to going to prison for that. Florida is ALSO a stand your ground state.

Whoa whoa, ok I'm not trying to argue with you. I get where you are coming from too, him just coming with threatening words is not justification for shooting him. I'm just saying that road rage incidents like that can develop to more serious, and even pulling a gun and pointing it can defuse / defend yourself. I had a similar road rage happen to me, when I was in college, and I had NO GUN. And I had no idea what the guy who got out of his car and walked up to mine, what his intentions were.
Thankfully he drove off, and I called the police, WHO DECLINED to come to my call since suspect has already left the scene. I spoke to a cop the next day and just asked what should I have done and he basically said if you are in fear of your life you can defend yourself.

oh forgot to add, Zimmerman was different because he put himself in that situation after the police dispatcher repeatedly told him to not follow Martin and to wait for police.

I get flashed even with my projectors. When the road is dark and single lane or hardly any drivers people often confuse high beams for low at first. Just check and brush it off if people flash you even if for no reason.

I'm not familiar with my state laws on this, much less yours. But someone who blocks the road and exits their vehicle to approach mine is a threat in my eyes. At that point I would do what I had to in order to protect myself..and as the saying goes, better judged by 12 instead of carried by 6.

Bah! That's like saying I ate enough food at my last meal to never have to eat again in my life. No such thing as seeing a great set of tits too often!!!

This is true, I've explained to friends before that projectors are becoming more common and some people may not realize the difference.

Right, he engaged the situation. Similar to opening your car door and pointing a gun at an unarmed guy after having road rage with him.

This horse is dead, but if you're ever in front of a jury for shooting an unarmed man you better be one hell of an actor to convince them you actually feared for your life.

Not knowing if the guy had a gun or not doesn't give you the legal right to shoot/kill him. That's a crazy way of thinking and will get you in a lot of trouble.

Good luck and stay safe.

What aren't you getting? This is exactly why no shots were fired. Nobody was shot!

Lol and you think as long as you didn't actually fire the weapon, no crime has been committed?

I HIGHLY recommend you look into this because you're headed to prison with the way you're acting. You can't just pull your gun out on anybody who looks at you funny. If you pulled your gun on me because I cussed at you I'd pull mine and we'd have a nice little shoot out all because you escalated the situation into a deadly encounter when it didn't have to be. I had an ACTUAL fear for my life because you pointed a gun at me so I'd have legal justification.

People like you shouldn't have weapons.

If his weapon was aimed at you, it would be a terrible mistake to reach for yours. There would be no "shootout". Always assume the other guy is a great shot, and always assume he's armed - even if you haven't seem a weapon yet.

Wow, people need to lookup the definition of "shoot". I have no horse in this race but this guy didn't shoot anyone. He pointed his firearm. Big difference between that and pulling the trigger.

Right. Let's say the guy didn't even see his weapon(it was dark and scary, right?)and kept walking towards him. Now what? You shoot the unarmed guy because you assumed he had a gun? o_O
