Didn't read the whole thread, but it's completely normal on D4S/DI cars. Most notably, FRS/BRZ has had a TSB out for it and will replace it, but it will most likely come back. Use less ethanol or ethanol-less gas in your car to minimize chirps. It's normal, not detrimental to the car, nothing is "broken", albeit a bit annoying at times. Toyota hasn't released a TSB on the Tacomas for this, but even if you get them to replace it, it will most likely come back.

They replaced my HPFP several thousand miles ago and the sound has not come back. I also stopped using Costco gas.

Mine used to have the chirp as well, traced it back to the fuel I was using. When I filled up using 87 shell i had the chirping issue but I changed gas stations and it hasn't been a issue since. I've now used other Shell stations with no issue, not sure why one would cause it and not the other but it's definitely not come back. Might want to try this before fighting the dealership

I'll have to check this out and see if alleviates the chirping in mine. I've been using Arco (BP) 87 and their fuels are definitely blended with ethanol.

I use at least 91+ octane and still have the chirp, and like it was stated above, it's embarrassing having a new vehicle operating with these conditions.

No doubt, they need to come up with a fix for that, a new $40K Truck should not be squealing or chirping!

13k miles sense my HPFP was changed out, dumped any fuel I could in it and I don't have the chirp anymore. It is NOT NORMAL, very annoying, and needs to be changed out. I believe changing fuel is just a band-aid fix..

Lol, did you read the very first word in the title of what you attached? Even Toyota will sometimes admit something is abnormal.

    THIS SOUND IS NOT NORMAL.
If Toyota doesn't agree to replace my HPFP on Monday I will drive my truck off the pier.

I see your dealer has got another term for customer, so as a guest this chirp is not normal. I disagree with the noise not being a functional problem, it may be at a later time it's unknown but, it sure sounds bad! Also, all Tacoma's should be chirping when new and then we could make an informed decision either to own a new chirping Tacoma or not, I would not. This is simply another way Toyota avoids a warranty repair. Best wishes.

Wow what a bunch of Bullshit, they should start one up on the Showroom to hear if it is making noise as it should if they "claim" its normal.

LONGO Toyota has agreed to replace my "entire HPFP" but i'm unsure if that includes the drive cam arm thing

Glad to hear, hope they also do that arm as it seems that would be the best way.
