Thanks. I don't understand why Toyota decided to go with chrome plastic bumper covers. Just color match them! Haha

Lol..no hood scoop. It's "extra pretty" with other stuff that added about $3000 to the sticker. Not the reason I bought it though and the they knocked $3000+ off the sticker price.

Try rhino dipping as opposed to plasti-dip...Sure, it's permanent, but it's a hell of a lot more durable and in my opinion looks better.

IMG_1550.jpg IMG_1552.jpg Hey friends. 1st time derping. Not sure anyone has done this particular design. Wanted to black out a large portion but wanted to leave a little more than just the toyota emblem (plus I was worried I was going to break the snaps trying to get it out)

So I tried dipping the door/tailgate badges and the front emblem on my 2015 Sport. The emblem looks great because I was able to easily remove and spray it. The badges didn't work out and peeled off when I was trying to remove the Plasti Dip. Now there's Plasti Dip bunched up in between the emblem and the actual door! Any tips on trying to get it all out before attempting to respray? I've been trying to pick at it with a toothpick and it's not really working.

I'm guessing I either didn't spray thick enough or didn't let dry long enough. (about an hour)

Is it overspray you're trying to remove? If so you can use acetone or any type of glue/adhesive remover. Just spray onto a wet paper towel and gently wipe it off. Then have a bucket of soapy water to neutralize it.

My truck is white, after doing my fender flares and badges I noticed the breeze still managed to carry some of the droplets and just washing with car soap did nothing. It looked like little specs of black, but I just gently wiped it with an adhesive remover and it came right off. I immediately wiped the entire area with soapy water, and then rinsed if off with my power washer.

Not sure that's the same issue you are having, post a pic! That would greatly help.

Nevermind all the grass clippings! Lol I need to wash my truck! What I'm trying to show is the plasti dip that has bunched up behind the very top of the TA. Trying to get that stuff out is driving me nuts! I feel like I need to though before I redip the emblems.IMG_1326.jpg

    Nothing worthy
Anyone dip their rocker panels yet?
Have a door ding a want to hide and since removing my mudflaps i want to protect the paint a bit.
Ideally want to wrap in vinyl but dip will be cheaper as a test if I like the look.
Even cheaper if someones done it yet.

I got some. Had to get a few actually. The dark bled thru the red and made it orange. Finally got it redish

Someone may have posted this, but I couldn't seem to find it in a search. Has anyone dipped door handles? I just bough a quicksand OR on Sunday and love the contrast of black over QS. Would dipping effect the keyless entry sensor on the drivers door? and what would the texture be like? Just ordered a can and am going to do chrome badges first, but looking at handles as well. Let me know your thoughts! thanks!

These are MY thoughts, and they can be taken with a grain of salt.
Personally, I would be reluctant to Plastidip the door handles. Yes, interfering with the sensors is something to concider, but my primary concern would be durability. The stuff is a rubberizing coating medium, and is far from something like paint, (which I'm not endorsing either.)
It is recommended to not even hit with a pressure washer; when washing, use gentle care. So concidering the physical use door handles get.... You get my point.
    Good luck with your decisions.
By the way, I have used it on the TACOMA.badge, the V6 badge, and the recessed regions intje front grill and am pleased with the peoduct in general.

Yeah I had that same thought as well, thanks for the advice, will probably leave as is. I was one of the VW TDI buyback guys so I've essentially just been drooling over Tacoma mods for the past 12 months while I waited to get mine. Hellllo money pit.

I ended up color matching my emblem. I'll be interested to see how the PlastiDip holds up this Spring/Summer as far as bugs and things smashing the grill... also, cleaning it should be interesting as well.
