2017 TRD PRO, who's waiting?

I was close to ordering a cement pro but ended up with a MGM offroad. Cement is definitely one of my favorite OEM colors, but it didnt fit in my budget the way I wanted since I was buying the truck about a year and a half earlier than planned. I still want a cement pro lol

 

Debating on whether or not I should pay for a full detailing service and/or ceramic coating when I get my Pro.

I can probably apply my own wash, clay, and wax myself, but I have no experience doing it. But holy crap are auto detailers expensive.

Decisions decisions.

 

I learned how to polish cars on my old truck it's not hard at all just time consuming. If you enjoy working on your car I suggest learning on an old car and when your confident work on the pro. Plus it's something you do every 6 months to a year so it'll save money in the long run.

 

I was thinking that also but went a different direction to do myself and save a bunch of cash

I'll be applying Polish Angel Cosmic V2. Spendy yes. However it's almost foolproof to apply. I practiced on my motorcycle fenders last weekend

thank you. i bought my pro from across the country and had it transported to me. thought i got ripped off.

 

Should have made a complaint anyway. Unless it was listed as a dealer/port installed option, everything in the engine is stock . I kinda wish they did something in the form of engine upgrades for the pro. Oh well. I still love the truck.

 

For me it's not about an image. It's about having something different. I also really love the way the cement color looks.

But in all honesty, not hard, and if doing by hand there really isnt a whole lot to mess up even as a newbie. Im no pro here, but IMHO all you need on a new car is a wash and wax, then touch up 1-2x a year. After 2-3 years, maybe spend the money for full detail then be set for another 2-3 years with minor touchups in between.

If you do like all that manual labor of a full detail, there is no replacement for powered tools like a DA polisher or a circular polisher if you feel up to the task of not burning paint.

Man... The approach and departure angles on that are so much better. Do you guys notice a difference between the two off-roading? I was thinking about the pickup being great if i get a dirt bike, but i wouldn't mind towing the little trailer with a runner... Ahh decisions

 

Idk why people worry about how other people spend their money. I definitely paid the premium price for a pro. For the simple reason that I wanted it and I had the money to buy one. Will other people with upgraded suspension be more off-road capable? Probably. Will their trucks be cheaper? Yes. Do I care? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

 

Im totally with you on this. I've gone on a long path of modding trucks, and i end up spending a fortune because these modded cars just take a lot of maintenance. Getting something plenty capable stock is great because its easy to maintain! Thats a strong enough point which sells people on the pro.

I don't think there's much that can be debated regarding which vehicle is better at rock crawling in its stock form (giving this one to the 4runner). I'm a truck guy for many reasons hence why I always go the Tacoma route. We have a Toyota Highlander to take care of the family needs.

I will say this though, if you want a manual transmission, the Tacoma will be your only choice! Another reason I went the Tacoma route.

Couldn't agree with you both more. I think many of these posts that complain about how much we spent on our Pro's come from people who would rather buy a base model and build it up. I also think there's a serious immaturity level with many of these posts. Be it an age situation or something worse, many people seem to like to flex their opinions in these forums using more as a place to troll/use as a diary than to add useful commentary. Annoying and frustrating regardless. That age old saying... "if you don't have something nice/constructive to say, keep it to yourself". People seem to have forgotten these words of wisdom over the years.
