Yeah I'm familiar with the noise and glare issues. Hahaha mounted to the front bumper would be hilarious. I'll get rubber to pack the heat vents to reduce the whistle. The glare I'll have to deal with for now. Maybe eventually make a glare shield for it if it annoys me too much.

 

You can cut that monster logo in the metal. Can over design it and cut holes into it after.

Mark the front and rear before you remove it. Also mark one area of the flanges both front and rear, so you can time it back up to the original location. You might have to loosen the front diff to gain you some wiggle room.

This may help. (Just the parts about the DS)
Also found a picture, looks like the front DS has a slip yoke so you should be able to maneuver it enough to get it out and back in without much trouble.

 

Just make sure the zerk is going in straight. You do not want to cross thread it. Don't use a wobble socket to start it. Guaranteed you will cross thread it that way.

 

Loosen the front diff. Should help you.

I've got those Relentless mounts, i like the way the sit and look. Just a suggestion since you're making your own, make them maybe a an inch or two shorter so the light bar sits back a few from the windshield. That should help a lot with the glare.

Mike has some ideas he is going to throw at me too. Hopefully I'll find the right balance to minimize the whistle and glare, but keep it looking sleek along the roof.
