I'm not seeing a supersession for the PPI on Februarys pricing. When is the effective date?

I understand supply and demand. Point is if he sells it he won't get much for it, they are going for $100-150 eBay, here, etc. and most don't even sell, its not in demand and there is an abundant supply. You originally told him he could subtract the money from said feasible sale from the PRO grille cost, given the current market if he could even sell his chrome TRD grill its not a big offset. And the supply is only going to go up since they make 1000's of new tacoma's everyday and tons of people swapping their grills. Hell the Sr5 grilles go for more. So back to my original comment on your post about him selling his TRD grille to offset the Pro grille cost, isn't really much if any.

I will just throw my stock grille in the closet and then when it is time to get rid of the truck put it back in and sell the pro grille.

And I totally agree business wise. But I am sure there is some added pretentious element here of Toyota thinking that if people want the parts to their "top tier" package, they are going to make people pay top dollar for it. Because it doesn't make sense to me that Toyota would up the cost due to demand, as I imagine if production costs were already high due to lower volume, why not start out at $600 or whatever to begin with.

Probably just end up ordering a BAMF grille since it's either cheaper or similar in price (depending on which one I get) and its metal fabricated and not plastic machine molded.

Well yeah that's makes sense. But you aren't taking into consideration that they originally priced it at $495 or what ever it was because they figured that was the most anyone would pay for an injection molded part.

It's not uncommon to have an initial surge when a new-to-market item is first offered. As time passed and demand didn't drop, they re-evaluated the pricing structure. It's really a very basic and often used strategy. BTW you can't make people do anything, the trick is to find a way that lets them feel good about over-paying for an item.

That's weird. The dealer I work at here in Indiana still has the same prices for dealer list and cost. Maybe coming up later?

Agreed, but wouldn't be a significant amount/offset which is what I originally said, not sure the response in the first place. "Oy vey!"
