    Tool box coupons.

My newly acquired 12 ton jack stands doing work. Wicked beefy @ nearly 35# each and are plenty tall. $86 after the 20% off. Yes, that's ice and snow.... I've been under the truck for the past 3 days in 15-20* temps :)

Have you even read this thread? Every single item you said is dangerous or crap other members say are great.
Craftsman not being more expensive then harborfreight, what planet do you life on? Their tools are easily 30-50% more expensive.

Another example of TW elitism. If you didn't pay top dollar for the right "brand" then it's junk and nothing said here will change their minds about it.

HF may become better for hand tools. With the sale of the Craftsman brand, they are considering limiting and registering returns. Whereas with HF hand tools you just walk in and they give you one off the shelf without question. Plus, with the expansion of the HF market, it is becoming easier to find a HF than it is a Sears.

I wont buy HF sockets. Not because of some TW elitism but because every socket I've ever snapped has "Pittsburgh" etched on the side of it.
I love my tool box, floor jack, etc.

I know for a fact (don't ask me how I know, just know that I know) that this hasn't been considered. Anything saying otherwise is just pure speculation at this point. Plus, seriously, Craftsman hand tools really aren't as good as they used to be. They are the same quality as HF for more money.

Well, to counter that claim a little. As far as registering the return/exchange, that is happening. I had to exchange a wrench and they required my DL so they could enter the exchange into the computer.

Yes, I was alluding to the fact that the recent sale of Craftsman to B+D isn't likely to effect much. And B+D hasn't had time yet to consider what will happen with the replacement policy. As long as Sears is still in the mix, it is likely that they will continue to run the show with the replacement policy.

Well, I see it as a change since it had never happened before my last visit to sears. Maybe it was a coinkidink that it happened after the info on the sale came out.
Either way, craftsman quality is on par with HF for some things (and lower on others). Made in Taiwan or China, neither one is USA.

Doesn't surprise me. I have return four 3/8" Craftsman ratchets in the last 3 years because they keep breaking. The return policy is cool and all but there's not too many things that suck more than being in the middle of your project and your tools breaking. A mid-project Sears run sucks. I think I'm going to slowly replace my Craftsman stuff with something better as it breaks.

I imagine so, considering the sale hasn't happened yet. There's only been an a agreement to a sale. Still has to be approved by the Feds.

Also, Sears has been limiting the returns for a long time anyway.
