Okole Install Question

Hello All,

Finally caught a nice day and started installing my seatcovers. Everything went great. Fit is good and tight. Looks great.

My one question is about the seatbacks on the front seats. Is the middle portion, where your back would rest, is the seatcover supposed to sit tight against the seat? Mine are not quite against the seat when I am not sitting in it. But when I sit it does stretch on out. Just kind of an odd air pocket.

Maybe they will stretch on out over time and fit snug against the seat back?

Also on the drivers side, there is a flap on the backside at the bottom that covers the airbag/headrest wires. It clips underneath the seat. I wasn't sure how I was supposed to wrap the seatcover under an secure it with that flap there? I just pulled it tight and it seems ok. I am wondering if I do it correctly then I may get rid of the air pocket mentioned above?

Mine took a few days to "relax" into the seat fully. They sit pretty tight against the back part now. I do have the side bolsters for the TRD seats...which causes a bit of that pocket anyways.

Is the "flap" the change skirt? If so you should unhook it and flap it up to the seat before putting the top portion of the front seat cover. It seemed a little awkward at first but it's hidden and makes the cover pull tight underneath with no constriction.
I installed mine while it was snowing and it took me some cursing before I got the jist of it. I really like them but really don't like the rubber smell from them.

 

This is normal. Mine did it, settled after a few weeks.

 

Sounds great. I will roll with them for a while and let 'em settle in.

Not sure of the correct name for that skirt / flap. It is on the back of the drivers seat at the bottom and hooks on underneath the seat. I just have the SR5 prerunner seats.

So did you just unhook it and then hold it up, while you pulled the seatcover down? Or did you somehow get it folded under the fabric, then pull the seatcover down?
