I MIGHT be in for the Over-the-Top DIY Pack Rack (Softopper compatible) for Long bed ... IF I can talk my cousin into welding it for me.

How many pieces does it come in shipped? trying to determine how many welds have to be made. pretty sure i can talk him into it.

Also, i think this has been covered but the softopper cant be folded down while the rack is on, correct?

Don't quote me on this but I believe, assuming I'm looking at the right model, you would have 18 weld points and 11 pieces. I'd email them to confirm that though.

Did All-Pro change models at some point? Looking at an old All-Pro packrack thread I see the accessory bar bolted directly to the vertical sections of the rack. And on this model, the accessory bar looks to wrap around the vertical pipe and bolt together. This might've been discussed already but I missed it.

I think the accessory bar for this pack rack is meant to be used in any position; the top or the sides.

Note the way it clamps; looks like you could put it anywhere on the rack; top, sides, front, or rear:

yes, the post above shows the current design. the older design used to tie in to weld nuts on the pack rack. i think the new design is better because you can attach something to the accessory bar and also have the option to fit something on the weld nuts as well if you have those installed.

Having a friend weld up mine too... although he says that this is a good 'teaching' opportunity!! Will see if I scorch off all my hair!

Then will be running it to Blue Flame for powder coating... haven't received an estimate.

Thoughts on what's a fair price for this?

FWIW, my front bumper with full hoops was 150 to get coated.
... but my rear high clearance with swing out and fold down table was 450 :annoyed:

I imagine a coat job on a bed rack will be around 100-200 depending on where you take it and how busy they are.

Added you to the list in post #2! I'm waiting on a response from Tracy @allpro to a question of my own.

You're now on the list! We need 3 MORE SPOTS to be filled. We've had a couple guys back out unfortunately, so the list is creeping up to 20 a bit slower than expected.

Didn't get a chance to read the whole post, I wanted to get my name in before it was to late. I'm in for the 16+ Apex Modular Rack (short bed). Is this offer good for the roof basket as well?
