My Toyota (shitty picture taken through window screen):

Also my old Subie that lunched its motor in 3800 miles due to factory defect:

I really like the Tacoma. Again I am simply irritated that this is the second time I'm going through this in a year. I just want to buy a car that works (not one that I have to keep in the back of my head what to do if the accelerator won't relent; this is not a normal problem to have). FYI did they release an ECU flash that causes the brake to override the accelerator? I guess this should solve the problem.

And in this case, don't watch the news or read newspapers...

What mechanics are involved in a floor mat buching up agaist the gas pedal.

If I was TOYOTA I would have told people tough , figure it out, who wipes your chin when your done eating ?

But somehow this floor mat deal has become the recall of the decade .

I guess it is because when you are number one there are always those out gunning for you to take your place and maybe someday that will happen just not today

Or maybe it is the deal that when you spill a hot drink on yourself you can sue and make money from your stupidity ... maybe that is it come to think about it

I'm not "insecure" about my purchase at all. In fact, this truck is the best automotive thing to ever happen to me! I don't think I could have better spent my money elsewhere. I did the proper research PRIOR to buying my vehicle so I knew what I was getting. I knew what was important to me and what was not. My tacoma has no defects that I'm aware of and I couldn't be happier; and you can quote me on that.

Can't control the floor mats ehh? Sounds like a personal problem. Does he also know that he needs to fill the gas tank on occasion?

If you checked the door jamb before buying you'd have noticed the bright yellow sticker indicating the reduced payload. It was not a defect, it was addressed in full.

This is not specifically about a stupid floormat recall. It is about your Toyota suddenly accerelating without driver input. Toyota attempted to say that this was caused by floormats. While this could be the case, it has been proven that your Toyota could accelerate suddenly for no reason even if you don't have floormats in your vehicle. So now Toyota says they are going to shim a spring on the accelerator pedal assembly. Only their are multiple reports that this has occurred in Toyota vehicles that do not have the problematic accelerator pedal assembly...so...? What's really causing this?

It's absolutely hilarious that some of you are such hard core fanboys, so insecure in your purchase, and/or Toyota salesman that you would make this out to be not a big deal. Your motherfucking car is not supposed to accelerate unless you press the motherfucking go pedal. I don't care if you have a plan for what you will do (brakes, neutral, off, etc), this is fucking ridiculous.

LOL you are right. Even though Toyota claims a specific GVWR as long as they put a yellow sticker on the door jamb stating that they don't know what they are doing and you are out 200 lbs GVWR (on an already anemic GVWR) because they are fucking retards, its ok. I'm sure everyone that bought a new Tacoma checked the GVWR sticker because they knew ahead of time that Toyota engineers are a bunch of fucknuts retards who can't even properly design a leaf spring system that has been around for centuries.

Also you are a real class act...I hope that you have the good sense to insult other's family members in person when they disagree with you.

^Like I said, if you want the increased payload (which is something 90% of owners will never use) get the TSB done. If not, enjoy the softer more comfortable ride that you'll be getting.

And I don't mean to directly insult your father. I just think that products (not limited to cars) do require a certain level of common sense to own. Again, not saying he doesn't have it, but you saying that the vehicle should be inherently fool proof is a pipe dream. Maintain your vehicle as you should.

I do not think the government created it. I think they made sure the media knew about it and keeps on knowing about it. The gas pedal / brake stuff is very serious and needs to be dealt with.

I just feel like this is all being sensationalized because it's Toyota. If it were GM or Dodge it would probably have never made it any further than the middle of a newspaper and maybe a very brief mention on tv news.

This is why it's becoming sensationalized.

The other problem with this recall shit is that assuming that "X" # of people actually had a problem now there are hundreds of thousands that will claim their car suddenly accelerated when they ass ended someone b/c they were too busy texting mary jane rotten crotch...

I am actually a technician in the automotive industry...and if half the recalls ive had to perform actually made it to the news they would have run with it like they are running with the toyota recall...and on that note the floor mat thing is not a toyota specific problem...almost every other car i get in while working has a floor mat jammed up in the gas pedal area...

as far as me i am not a fan boy i am a loyal customer, I have two toyotas sitting in my driveway. 1 has 40k been to the dealer 1 time for a problem check engine light..which was caused by a bad VVT gear...

I feel really sorry for the cocksucker running around with a buch of electronic gadgetry hooked up to his truck tryin to prove some mediocre pooint to the dealership...these are usually the customer we tell not to come back to the dealership anymore...i loath customers like you

Wow. So you actually take the time to check to see if I'm an owner (not a troll) and then when I demonstrate with photographs that I am an owner you go ahead and start with the troll bashing anyway. Product inspired fanaticism, 1...being able to cope with reality, 0. Congratulations on your FTW kid.
