    Like your driveway homie.
What load rating are on those Cooper tires you ordered? D or E?

A big plus, for the average normal driver, with the spare under the bed, is that it's protected well from the sun and elements, emphasis on AVERAGE and NORMAL. I understand most here are a little more geared toward the more ideal off road setup. The nice thing with spare on the hinged bumper is it's easier to access, so you can include the spare in your tire rotations, 25% longer tire life, in essence.

So your new tires will definitely be noticeably stiffer on the ride. I believe the stock OEM tires are load range C. I like the D load rated tires, healthy compromise. Let us know how you find the new ride when you get them on.

Yeah, I was just helping to see why Toyota possibly put it there.
I wouldn't consider you part of the average normal 'taco is my commuter only' owner's group. Which rear bar did you decide on?

Lol, yeah, it sounds like it was just a bit frustrating, him not being familiar with it and all.
But I wouldn't know, I've never sounded off after getting frustrated... Lol:D;)

I found this mod somewhere on TW, to install a PVC or ABS tube (1.5" ID) to make
it much easier (no guesswork) to insert the tool.

This is photo of the hoist end of the install:

I just ran over a big ass box on 281 going 70. My front tire and everything looks ok though.
You definitely need MTRs, if you remember last week or so I had a flat too but it was still driveable.

I highly recommend removing the last part "Z" part of the handle and attaching your cordless drill to the square tool end. Makes raising/dropping the spare 1000x less of a pain in the rear.
