Off topic but any local indoor rock climbers? Looking at joining a gym but seeing if any guys on here did it.

 

I go to Austin Bouldering Project! It's fantastic- I can get you in for a free visit if you're interested.

 

There's a place off south congress next to Infinite Monkey Theorem that looked good.

 

Crux. That's right by my work, I keep meaning to check it out. The other place (ABP) is closer to my house, so I go there.

I live just east of Springdale and MLK. ABP is right down the road.

 

You climb? Also, I have a buddy that lives right over in your neighborhood. Cool little area! I'm on the other side of the river in the Montopolis neighborhood.

 

I was looking at North Austin Rock Gym. South Austin during the week is to hard for me to get to with traffic.

 

No lie. I live south, and my wife and I constantly go "That looks fun, wait, oooh, it's north of the river. Oh well!"

 

Yup I feel your pain. The river jump during the week is impossible.

 

Looks nice, let us know how it is. Wouldn't mind doing some more exercise than constantly wrenching

 

I used to climb a lot, but I've had a few unrelated shoulder injuries and haven't climbed much since. It's funny cus my fiancé actually just asked me today if I wanted to go soon.

 

Took an hour and half to get to Slaughter from Top Golf on Monday at 6. WTF?

 

Y'all should come to ABP! I'm trying to get my wife to start climbing with me.

 

I've identified the problem.

 

I didn't schedule it. Wife kept complaining, I kept mouth shut for sake of marriage.

I wanted to go at noon.

 

Pro-tip: offer to go to dinner at the Domain beforehand (Maggianno's, anyone?) and beat the traffic that way. Plus, good food!

 

I got into it for a bit over 10 years ago. Would go to South Austin Rock Gym in some industrial area. I think I still have a harness and chalk bag somewhere. Definitely don't have shoes anymore.

Maybe one day I will try it again. Aside from wheelin' with y'all the majority of my free time is volleyball.

 

ABP is all free bouldering- no harnesses. It's a breeze to show up, switch shoes, and climb. Hit me up if you decide to dabble in it once again!
