Just wondering, is there a way to divide/search music files via folder name from the USB instead of Artist, Album, genre, composer?

Create a playlist. I think the system defaults to those categories though. But you can have a custom playlist name if so desired.

I've made a playlist folder but there is no way to play only the songs in that folder. I can't seem to figure this out.

Are you playing from your phone or a usb stick? I know you said USB but I could also assume your wired to your phone.

The playlist may have been read as an "Artist" file depending on where you put the file on the drive.

When you create files on a USB its read in this tier

    Artist > Album > Song

    I don't believe so, unfortunately...

I called Toyota, Entune department a while back and they told me that they don't use Folder/Directory structure. They said maybe someday but not now.

I use a old MP3 player connected to Entune with a audio AUX cable. On my player, i have folders for podcasts and music. I like to keep my audio separate from my phone which is connected via Bluetooth. This is a old school work-around, but it works for me.

Trying to avoid wires and potential break ins.

but this may be a good option for longer road trips.
