    Ordered the second cylinder head today. Hopefully have it by saturday.
    All that's left is valve train and the engine can get done

    I see someone already got the coolant temp for ya.
    On the auto slushbox I think you wanna stay at or below 200 or so. Just going off memory.

    Since the normal range of coolant temp is 180-210 a 160 tstat will only benefit it by keeping the coolant cooler.

    So if nnormal is 180-210 and mine is showing in normal ranges, do I need one to run even cooler ?

    If you want it to run cooler then yes it will benefit you, not saying it's needed but in the summer your coolant might be closer to 200.

    Mine runs that during winter and peaks about 190 in the summer i wouldnt imagine you need it

    Yeah it's not needed but it's a good option to consider in running a cooler truck for the summers. Mine was around 210 but our summers are brutal.

    Does your adapter shut off? Mine stays on so I worry if it will put any drain on the batt.

    Did some reading on people leaving it on for 3-4 days without driving, with no issues.

    I am testing mine this week, and I can update you if it dies.
