There are some choices. Regular or 2.85 pulley, stock or performance shift points.

Nice! I didn't know that. I assumed there was only one tune on the box. Well, I may try that then! Thanks for the info. Kit should be here next week.
I just finished my 16 Tacoma and now building the 2012! I love both generations

I'll repeat what others have posted. Don't. Do. It.

Go straight to the dealer for the TRD flash.

Okay, that apparently is the consensus. It'll be fine to "limp" the truck to the dealer after the installation?

Yep I drove like a lost soul to my dealer about 10 miles away with my AFE CAI on and said "yo flash my ECM". Plan your route to avoid any step hills.

Yeah at this point I don't think I'll be selling my truck to anyone unless they understand the circumstances. I can't have that on my conscience. I don't think anyone should have to go through this. I believe in being honest with people. So it looks like it'll be going to dealer/trade in/carmax.

It's good to have honest people like you around! Good luck with the truck. Yes, I try to be the same way

Just changed a stock ECU to my supercharged FJ, runs very rich at idle and at low load. So no worries.

Tomorrow I try to get this spare ECU reflashed.

Spare ecu? I didn't think it was that easy to replace the ecu.

can't believe you invested 10-12k to the truck, then sell it for cheap...really sucks!

Haven't gotta a ETA just yet. Hopefully soon. But it gives me time to sell some stuff I need to get rid of. Was trying to start this year off debt free...

I will make sure to post some pictures when it comes in.
Side note. If I don't end up selling it. I think I'll be pulling the gauges, grill and a few little things. Every one in this thread will have first dibs.

You don't wanna get a used ecu and go that route? I fell like after everything you been through that's what I would do in my opinion.

So it is possible to get a used ECU to work on a different vehicle with the Mongoose/Techstream? Some have questioned wether it's possible.
