2016 Tacoma HID

I won't be and will be using DDM.

 

All DDM stuff here, no relays needed. No modification of bulbs or anything like that. Plug and play.

 

Xenon depot 4300k Phillips bulbs. truck wasnt on level ground, 75-90 ft away from the wall. great output, pretty good cutoff

 

I talke to DDM today and they do not have the H11 bulb our truck requires. Did you modify the bulb to fit with your existing adapter?

 

No. As I wrote previously, H11, no modifications needed.

 

Your bulb is actually upside down then...

 

What effect does this have on light output then?

 

Are shadow smack dab in the center of your output.

 

Nope.

 

Any chance you could snap some pics of the lights at night facing a garage or something? I am hesitant to put H11 bulbs in when we need H11b's...

I wouldnt really say it's a need, per say. People are saying normal h11 bulbs casts a shadow from the ceramic return wire, but I don't see it on mine...

First pic is stock. Second pic is H11 HIDs. If you're talking about the slightly darker area in the center of the rectangular reflections above the cutoff, I don't see that being an issue. The important part is the beam below the cutoff which is very bright and intense.

 

Why are there those rectangles?

 

No idea. They are there with stock or aftermarket bulbs, so it has to be a characteristic of the projector housing.

Good discussion. I just ordered this kit I have well researched. Truck still in the body shop getting damage fixed so I have these lights and the TRD pro grill for when it comes out. On this, I can get the TRD Pro Grill for $430 Canadian which is like $328 US if anyone wants one.
