Totally forgot to let everyone know here, was issued my PPL "license to learn". Checkride was fantastic and a great learning experience. Been studying for my instrument written. Have taken several trips with wife and a few with my daughter.

    Congrats!

Once you earn your instrument, you'll fly so much 'cleaner' and precise.

In my opinion, the instrument training is really 90% of controlling the airplane and 10% FARs and IFR rules. Good luck bud :)

Oh I don't know if I mentioned here or not. I started my commercial single training in a Piper Lance! It's a T tail model and that is really messing with me. The pitch authority on that bird is very heavy and very slow to react. Couldn't be more different than the Cardinal with it's enormous stabilator that I'm used to. Needless to say, I can't land the Lance worth a damn yet. I'm definitely going to need a lot of practice with that

    Congrats man.

Wonder how much of that is due to no prop wash over the tail surface?

MD11 crews feel the same when compared the the 10s. Much smaller serface area.

Just a little private pilot over here haha. But quickly learning and about to earn my instrument rating and soon to start my commercial and multi engine lessons.
Just flying a trusty ole Cessna 172 for now. Here's a picture of a landing in north dakota

The hood/foggels not the most flying I've ever done. But then neither is flying low vis either (at least for me).

The bag in the backseat is the best type of hood flying.

    Congrats!

Ya basically what he said :)

Nice! I've got about 5 hours in the Lance and the T tail is definitely different and something to get used to. I also started CPL training in the Mooney which has it's own quarks...

    Nice :)

Not sure if it's due to prop wash, but that can certainly contribute a little. My instructor said that it's weird because the wings are in ground effect and the horiz stab is not. That makes for pretty aggressive rotations to "pop" the plane off the ground. Landing is just something that will have to come with time.
Very nice. I did private and instrument in a G1000 172. It's so easy a chimp could do it.
My mom know's someone with a Mooney 201 and we are trying to coordinate a time to go up in it the next time I'm back in Dallas and not super busy.
Now all you need is to sabotage the pilots of that Falcon's lonar car and commandeer it for yourself!

And here I was blaming this mornings blurry vision on last nights beer. Your explanation sounds much more reasonable.

Sorry beer. Let's never fight again.

Holy crap I have been out of the trainers for too long. I would not have guessed that was a 172 with that panel.

I need to get a local checkout for some recreational flying.
