I feel same way except for laying engineered hardwood down. All that's left is foyer and closet.

It's been a rough week, I had to fire two guys. Let me tell you, that is not as fun as I always dreamed.

I could easily fire somebody (if the reason is valid). I'm actually planning to get away from Engineering and go into Project Management

 

Start working on that PMP...

 

I gotta move my way up the ladder a little bit in Engineering first...FE soon, then get my PE...then move to PM. That's the current plan.

 

They deserved it. I always thought the same thing/. It's just a little different when it actually happens though. I'm not saying I lost sleep at all, but it's just the feeling of know you just made two guys jobless.

I considered PM, but I'm happy staying as a senior analyst for now. I'd rather not have the stress of being PM right now, plus I want to stick with my current organization and I definitely don't want to go Gov't.

 

Oh that's definitely not something you WANT to do. You don't want anybody jobless, but you also can't have someone not worth having. People have to learn they don't "deserve" positions they "earn/work for" them.

I hear you. I like being with a private company that does government projects lol. Kinda the best of both worlds.

he really has a good looking setup.

 

The FE isn't hard at all. Just take a bit of time to detail read the formula manual and that's really all you need. The biggest thing that saved me was not knowing everything in there, but knowing generally where stuff was so I could find it fast. The time is a lot shorter than you think.
