    Hey Guys,
just have a quick question for you...Does anyone know how to turn off the "ding ding ding ding" that occurs when my door is open? I mean its pretty annoying and it happens when my lights are turned off and i am just trying to exit the truck? (its on my 17 taco trd or)

Also, does anyone have a good solution to clean off the stereo? It almost looks like an Ipad, so I am thinking a microfiber cloth and some type of special solution? I have finger prints all over the damn thing now and it makes mee look like a greasy pig lol. But seriously, what kinds of things work and what should I avoid?

And finally... how hard would it be to wire in the TOW Package that I am going to purchase on Amazon? Do the trucks come pre-wired? I know that the tow package is 4 simple bolts that hook right into the frame, but now I am concerned about the actual wiring?

    thanks you guys in advance.

I think the dinging is caused when you open the door before the truck is shut off... At least that is what i have noticed in my truck

I am kinda shocked that you were able to buy an Off Road 4x4 without a Factory Tow Package, I always see it as a mandatory option, I imagine the tow kit you buy should have some wiring.

Even my 4x2 came with the tow package I wasn't looking for in particular. Just a bonus.

Does your Taco have smart key system (push button)?
Is it doing that even with engine turned off?

-Don't open the door before you turn it off.

    -User a dry microfiber cloth

-Tow package was a mandatory option. I would be surprised if yours didn't have it. Are you sure?

Careful, not all microfiber cloths are equal. Some are awfully sharp. Plus you don't want to drag a piece of grit across the screen.

I use Plexus plastic cleaner, spraying a little on my super soft microfiber cloth. http://www.plexusplasticcleaner.com/about.html https://www.griotsgarage.com/product/microfiber+speed+shine+cloths+set+of+3.do

Whatever you do, avoid paper towels. May as well use sandpaper.

Maybe in your region, careful on assuming it's a mandatory option everywhere. From SouthEast Toyota build page:

When you build it on the Toyota Site in my region the Tow Package is automatically checked off. My assumption is that if you Off Road then the Bigger Alternator, Battery, and extra Coolers were needed. I personally never have seen an Off Road without the Tow Package, but then again maybe it is a regional thing.

The only trim the tow package is standard equipment is on the trd pros.

The tow package is part of a package that is optional on all the other trims.

It is pretty rare though when you don't see the tow package on the v6 trucks.

For the screen I bought a package of individually wrapped Electronic/Screen Wipes. You can buy them by the bin....they're similar to the little hand wipes you get at a BBQ restaurant. They have them at Office Max or Office Depot, etc. I keep them in my center console.

When I was shopping there weren't many without it, but they existed. I can't really fathom why anyone would order one without it here in the SE; even without towing the additional coolers in Georgia summertime driving seem beneficial.

Best bang for buck as far as factory options go, the Tow Package. Truly baffling that someone would order a truck without a tow package.

I would HIGHLY recommend putting a screen protector on the entune premium screen. Mine has some micro scratches even with using a microfiber towel only

Agreed on Bang for the Buck with how much stuff it includes. When I was Ordering my Truck there were only 3 Packages:
1- "Tow Package" which was a Mandatory Package.
2- "Premium & Tech Package" which also mandates Tow Package.
3- "Premium & Tech with Options Package" which also Mandates Tow Package.

Tow package is like $600-695, and is far more than a receiver like you'll get for $200.

Anyway, an aftermarket 4 pin harness will include plugs that go on your OEM taillight harness. You'll remove your taillights, unplug them from the factory harness, plug in your 4 pin harness into the factory harness, then plug in your taillight to the 4 pin harness plug end.

No wiring needed, all you have to do is route the 4 pin harness into your taillight area and find a place/method to attach your 4 pin receptacle.

Microfiber cloth with windex sprayed in it. Another microfiber cloth to dry it off.
