I agree completely. Women who belittle men are the same. If you don't like someone then that's fine, don't destroy their sense of self to make your petty ass feel better.

 

Damn. That's insane.

 

There's a huge stigma around seeking help for any mental health issue and I think a lot of people fear that the harm done by being labeled as "mentally ill" or something similar is worse than just fighting their demons alone.

 

They'd rather self destruct than get help.

Damn!! This thread went REAL awfully quick.

 

This is just my point of view in reference to why I didn't seek help when I was in a bad head space.

It's often easier to pretend like everything is ok than to go to someone for help who will tell you it's not and show you just how fucked up you are and how much you need the help. It can be overwhelming. I put off seeing anyone for a long time after my brother died because the people I spoke to would say things like "I understand" when in reality they didn't. Until you've lost a sibling for no reason, and seen their body laying there lifeless, heard your mom crying her throat raw and had to explain to their 5 year old son why their dad isn't coming home you don't understand. So how can you really expect me to trust you when you start the relationship off with a lie?
