They were definitely a pain. Good thing the kids are getting close to where we can use booster seats. I hate having the space behind the seats so inaccessible at this point.

I love mine. Be careful buying a used one. I've seen a lot of used ones going for more $ than what I paid new for mine. If you buy a 16, try to get them to perform any TSB work prior to taking it home.

    Alright peeps,

Historically I have been against lifting my truck because I didn't feel that I was going to do anything that would warrant lifting it. Then, a couple days ago, I lost to a deep patch of snow. Luckily I was able to find someone with a much larger truck to give me a tug and get me on my way.

So here is the thing: I don't want to go all out with this if I do indeed decide to lift, But I want it done right. Maybe an inch or two, but no more than that... The OR package is already slightly higher than the base models. I also want to keep stock wheels and tire size (265/ 70R16). I'm also going to stick with the stock AT tires until they wear out, at which point I will replace them with Wild Country XTX's.

So, what kits/ brands are out there that you guys would recommend? Would any of these kits require the replacement of the stock Bilsteins? Also, how would this effect my towing capability?

    My OR setup:
Bilstein 6112 up front (3rd notch) & 5160's in the rear w/ a set of SumoSprings to help towing which also provide a 5/8" rear lift with no weight = level truck, with better shocks & 1.5" lift more/less.

I guess it's a tad more harsh, since the bed frame is resting on the SumoSprings, but honestly, it's not that bad. No worse than stock... At least from what I can remember.

Toyota care and warranty follows the truck so no need to worry about buying used for TSB's. Obviously you'll want to test drive it and if there's any doubt take it to a mechanic to check under the hood and carriage. I've had my Taco 2 months and no issues thus far. Took it in for the 10k service and had the dealsership give me a print out of service history. Pay the $30 for a car fax as well. Depending on the dealership I've seen fabricated car fax reports. I don't think Toyota dealerships would do this but to make me feel good about my decision I would rather spend $30 for a car fax to ensure my 40k investment has not been totaled or in any other reported accidents.

It matches the suspension and control arms, you just cant see it well in the pic. I kind of like the fact that its more noticeable.

Are you going to throw a TRD in there? I think it would look really good, but great design very original!!
