I also think its going to be much more than just Luke=the last Jedi or Rey=the last Jedi. We know Luke started training a new group of Jedi (or was it Just Ben Solo / Kylo Ren??) but could "The Last Jedi" be a completely new character?

I can't say it enough how much it Pi$$es me off that Disney retconned all the Expanded Universe material, but they seem to be lately taking ideas from it (why as much as a cop-out as it is, I think Rey is Luke's daughter)....but anyway my point, is after order 66, there were several "Last Jedi" some were in hiding, some survived the murders, old Ben Kenobi, etc. so I just wondering if its something like that.

P.S. I thought all previous logos were yellow, I never noticed that ROTS and ROTJ were red also.

Just Empire. Attack of the Clones really wasn't that dark/dark ending. Revenge was the Dark one of the Prequel Trilogy.

 

Maybe only in Luke's training. Remember there was a thousand years that the sith were extinct to the Jedi (really only in hiding).

 

Could be about Luke's training but I've always believed it was because Yoda was unable to complete it

Agreed. The whole Rogue One tie in with Jedha was very cool and interesting; right in your face kind of thing.

The original trilogy had a couple cool twists no one saw coming which made it that more awesome. I hope 8 and 9 hold similar twists though its harder now since everyone is looking for it

EDIT: But I don't think the theory mentioned is "the twist" and The Last Jedi simply refers to Luke's major role in 8. Rey's bloodline should be a huge twist and wonder what it is.

That'd be...different. I just think its gonna be mainly about Luke and him now trying to train Rey or something. He could turn, that was a possibility while making the originals. I for one, don't wanna see that happen. Think it'd be too unlike Star Wars for that to happen. Either way, I'll be in theaters watching it and every other one that comes out lol

 

If Luke turned it would be pretty interesting, though I would be disappointed. The best part would be after the movie and watching people's reactions if that did take place.

I'm just hoping its a darker movie like Rogue One.

 

Given that it's Rian Johnson directing it who also directed Looper I would bet it's going to be dark. As dark as pg-13 will allow I guess.
