I wouldn't mind paying but Cleveland is too far away. I should be able to get it done though. Thanks for the offer

Just noticed you're all the way out there. I wouldn't want to drive to Cleveland for anything wither

    Fucking Cleveland! LOL.

It's funny how perspective can change. Back home, if I had to run to Cleveland it was like 1:40 and that was fucking miserable. Here, other than the city I work in, the next biggest city where we go is over 3 hours away, over the mountain, and at present the only main road there is closed due to a landslide and the secondary roads through the national forest are all snowed in. We go to San Fran and Sacramento a lot and those are 5 hours away. The first time it was like "OMG this drive is horrible", now it's like, "hey babe, I'm running to Sac, you need anything"... "yeah, bring me back a Starbucks"...

My buddy from Akron had a short term gig in Boise Idaho, and I drove up to hang out with him and didn't think twice about doing it. It's only 12 hours there! LOL. Back home that'd get you to the UP and you'd be planning that trip for months in advance.

Ohio and Kansas are the two states I've learned to absolutely hate driving through. And just Ohio blows.

West coast would be a blast to drive around, it's actually scenic and has stuff other than grass.

I'll give you a hot tip on getting through Kansas and not going fucking insane: take US 36. It's damn near as fast as I-70 and is really pretty. Real gentle curves and small hills and lots of little farm towns, but none of them even have a traffic light and you can do 80 on the road outside of them. I took it across to the Rocky Mt Nat Park a few years ago (https://meefzah.smugmug.com/September-2014-US-36-trip/ ) and now if I have to cross that butt-fuck of a state, I lighten the misery by taking 36. If you want to be super cool (like me) you can run 36 the whole way from Uhrichsville (start) to the RMNP (end).... if you are going to Moab or Ouray just hop on 70 in Denver and keep on keeping on.

Yeah, it's pretty driving out here, but sometimes you just want to hammer down and get somewhere, you know! Plus some of these roads are treacherous as fuck in inclement weather or at night. We get a lot of calls for crashes that just get discovered at 8:00 am, they happened 10 hours earlier when a car drove off a canyon but no one was around to see it. Those are all recoveries, people be all broken on rocks and gnawed on by bears and shit.

Having something to look at shortens the trip. Driving gets old on flat ground.

I wish I lived in California. I HATE Ohio and this freezing cold nonsense.
Does there happen to be a paper mill around you? That's what I do and it pays pretty well and I'd do almost anything to relocate.

I'll keep that in mind! I'll be doing Moab twice this year so anything to help get through that state.....

Those canyon crashes kinda sound cool but I'm a little screwed up in the head, ya know o_O

    No paper mills but...

There's vegetation farming and processing of a different sort!

I just sold something on CL and the guy looked like this firefighter I've seen a couple times on crashes so I asked him if he was a firefighter, and he goes "no, I'm in the cannibais industry". I said, "sweet man, I'm in the opposite industry". LOL.

Nah man... Texas is the worst. Going from San Antonio back home to Mansfield is the most boring drive ever. You can leave San Antonio and drive 5 hours and still be in Texas with not a damn thing to look at besides dead armadillos laying on the road lol.

Yea that drive sucks too but it's worth it when you get there. South Padre island is awesome. My wife and I went there a few times to hit the beach and catch some fish. I wish I had my pictures of some of the red drums I had caught.

I saw three of the FJ's riding together that I followed around for a little while but didn't talk too much to them, I was by myself so I just poked around all day sometimes following different groups just to not be completely alone. One was the Resz fab FJ.
I did get behind one random group of 1 JK and 2 XJ and they were really nice, help spot me through the wall crawl which some spots are very technical on the rocks, sliders and skids got a work out for sure. NO DENTS WERE ADDED THIS WEEKEND! WOO!
