That's because he bought SPC ucas. I didn't put those on my list of high quality arms for a reason. Haha he also is running way too much lift for a ball joint to operate properly, or for any of his suspension to operate properly. Haha

I've been reading a lot about contact issues with the coilovers especially Icon ext. 2.5 paired with Camburg, Squeeks, and alignment troubles. I've read that they are both have their issues however, the Camburg more so the TC. I want to pull the trigger today so that they'll get shipped out hopefully over the weekend.

First off let me preface this with saying im not the smartest guy on this forum and don't know everything but I try to answer questions with facts instead of opinions and knowledge instead of ignorance so by all means, dont take what I say over the next guy if you dont think my information is correct.

Fact: My 1.25 Camburgs contact my Fox 2.5 extended travel coilovers at full droop. If I rotate my spring slightly, that contact goes away.

Fact: Uniballs squeak when the Teflon lining starts to wear down or gets built up debris around it. Just clean them and apply some Dry Teflon Lube and it goes away but it is an open, non greased joint. It's gonna make noise. Just as your coilover rod end and top cap use an open, non greased uniball. If you want the best parts, there's a little trade off.

Alignment issues is such an open ended concern with dozens of variations of why a bad alignment could be caused. It may not even be a parts problem. Some people just don't know how to align a vehicle.

Do you have Icon coilovers?

Buy the TC instead of the Camburgs if you are concerned. Total Chaos is a very reputable speed shop. Although Camburg is pretty much the top of the world as far as offroad race truck parts go, this means they make their money in that world as well, where as Total Chaos makes more of theirs from the casual off-roader such as yourself.

 

Appreciate the insight Yes, I order Icon 2.5 Ext Coilovers and have been waiting to put them on due to the need of UCA's. I just get skeptical when dropping money like this on a suspension. I'd rather do it right the first time then repeat the process as well as get some comments form people who have the product already and have ran them through hell. Camburg, TC and Icon have been on the top of my list for a while to get. I really like the look of camburg and could get a deal on them compared to the TC's if spinning the coil fixes this issue then I might as well just go with them to be honest. Seems like you like your Camburgs a ton.

Where did you purchase them? I've been looking at their website and they are listed at $699. Is there a cheaper option?

Ok I need ideas on where to carry my spare. 295/85-16 too big for the tire carrier underneath and I can't go with a swing out since I won't fit in the garage then. Thinking of a hitch arm to put it in the trailer when we go on a trip. Right now I have the stock spare under the truck and worry about using it on long drives. It's fine for around here so I can get a full size on it. Anybody have ideas. Bed of truck is no go.

I don't know if it helps at all, but I've had the Camburg BJ UCAs on my truck and the wife's 4Runner for a while now. I've been happy with them. It was no problem getting alignments done, they require zero maintenance, and gave me plenty of caster. They were also in my budget at the time, and my truck in on the street 95% of the time anyways, so they're all I feel I really need.

 

Damn. Been wanting to have a get together, but I got some family time tomorrow before I go out of town.

ran into a problem with my snorkel install. One of these will not thread in. Looks like I'll by buying a bolt to cut its head off.

 

I should know more about my schedule after this weekend. I leave country in under 2 weeks, but not sure where I'll be between now and then
