    Hey everyone,
So I'm planning to purchase a Demello front bumper for my 2016 in next month or so, but I'm still trying to figure out what winch to get. I definitely want to stick with Warn. I had a m8000 on my 1st gen., which was great but not sure if anyone is running one on a 3rd gen. My original plan was to throw a Warn Zeon 10s, but I've been told that the size of the winch wouldn't fit the Demello bumper without some cutting behind the bumper. What are all you Demello bumper owners running for a winch? Thanks in advance for any input!!

My recommendations are to get a winch with a capacity of 1.5 times GVWR, so nothing less than 9000 lbs.

I prefer steel wire because it holds up better in the elements. Synthetic rope is better when it breaks but cant handle heat, rain, and other stuff.

I use a Warn xd9000i but you might need something with a modular solenoid.

I dont know too many people running DO bumpers.

Thanks for the input. Yeah since our trucks are so new, not too many people running demello bumpers.

Yeah, everyone has their own preference, and to me the Demello bumper is the best looking. I finally saw one in person a few weeks back and I was sold. Looks much better in person. And they're local to me, so even better! @JDEMELLO

I have mine sitting in my basement waiting on winch and tires. What did you do with your fog lights?

I have a m8000 with synthetic on mine and it pulls great, even pulled out a school bus buried in the mud. The zeon series is a nice winch as well and you can get a relocation kit for the solenoid box and it should fit in the bumper.
A good lower cost winch is the warn vr series.
I recommend whatever winch you go with to get the synthetic. It's safe, lite and much easier to handle than the cable.
The elements will not be an issue in an enclosed winch bumper.

I have a Demello bumper... Winch's are heavy and not used all that much. I have one on my Land Cruiser and have not yet swapped it over. If you have to have a Winch (bucket list item) get the lightest one on the market.

You also have to consider made in USA or over seas. Mine is 10 years old and over seas... It is fine. It is based on price point, as I remember.. 1K made in USA 600.00 over seas.

Last, get Synthetic line. The wire is too heavy and if it breaks, people get hurt...

Thanks! I actually installed an m8000 w/synthetic rope a few months back. Bumper is heavy! Good thing there was three of us. Two holding it up on each side and one bolting it up.

I'm on Bilstein/ome 886, custom uca's(identical to total chaos), bilsteins bumped up one notch. Dakars in the rear w/ bilsteins.
Compared to my 2001? Big time upgrade in the interior obviously. I do like the size of the 2001 better though. But I do love the 3rd gen.

Oh I loved that truck. Just figured since i didn't have any car payments, and I've never bought a brand new vehicle, it was the perfect time to buy a new rig. I already have a daily driver.

Working on it, dissent offroad racks, shift sense pro, pedal commander , ARB twin, rigid SS dually's , dual batteries, ARB fridge , 2.5 Fox coil overs wResi , 2.5 Fox rears w resi Total chaos UCA , deaver packs , Nitto trail grappler's 33" .
Exactly ! On the synthetic. Just do your basic maintenance on the rope and it will be fine.
I'm a Smittybilt winch guy. Used to swear on the Warn bible. But bought a Smitty for a JKU about 5 years ago that has seen a lot of use pulling others out. And am now a convert . Smitty 9.5s
