8th Annual South Padre Island Tacoma World Meet 05-27-2017

Hi EVERYBODY!!!!

This year we're going to host the meet in May. We are expecting our baby in July so that rules out any travel for us for during that month or even June or August.

The date is 05-27-2017, it's a Saturday and once again my girl and I (and our little bun in the oven ) will be traveling from California to experience this awesomeness that we've all created over the past few years.

We are really looking forward to this year considering how many of us showed up last year. 50+

From this point on I'll just copy and paste some of the info in regards to the times:

If you're not going to be able to make it, please don't post any comments saying so. I'm not trying to sound rude or offensive, but when people post things like "Well, I can't make it out because so and so... ...take lots of pics guys!!!" it takes away some of the positivity of the thread.
Like I said, I'm not trying to be rude, just honest.

Request the day off if you think you might work that day.

For those of you in the SA area, you can ride out that same morning, preferably no later than 5:30 am from there:

I'm sure most of the people from the SA or surrounding areas will probably leave 1 or 2 days ahead of time so no worries.

BUUUUUUUT since that might not be convenient for everyone you can always just hit the road and either meet up somewhere along the road/at a stop or at SPI

From there we'll drive down to the Corpus area and meet with the guys and or gals from there in an area:

From there we'll ride down and stop in Harlingen to refuel (there is a Bass Pro Shop where we'll meet) and meet up with more people in that area if they haven't already headed to SPI. From there we'll head out to Port Isabel and get everybody together in the Walmart parking lot and wait for about 30-45 minutes for any stragglers and buy stuff for grillin'and beers and chips and what not...





So

5:30 Leave SA -5:45 am the latest - (For those leaving the SA area that morning)

7:30-7:45 Leave Corpus area after meeting up with the tacomaworldlings from there. Meeting at the Walmart at this address :

Corpus Christi, TX 78410


9:30-9:45 Arrive in Harlingen, maybe refuel there. Meet more tacomaworldlings there. We'll meet in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot in Harlingen, wait for about 15-20 minutes for any stragglers.

10:30-10: 45 Arrive/ meet everybody in Port Isabel walmart parking lot, buy any last minute things…

11:15 leave together for SPI then regroup outside of Access 5 before going in.



With 2-3 stops between SA and SPI that timing sounds about right...

Me too. My wife and I had a good time at SPI for the New Year. Got spotted on the beach by a random Instagram person too.

Sounds good. I'll put in a vacation request soon for the week and run from PINS to Mansfield Cut for some prime fishing if anyone else is interested in joining. Good times.

Excuse the noob, but is there a plan for what do while down there or is just an excuse to hang out on the beach? (Im good either way, just asking)

 

The plan is to get together and have a BLAST!

My girlfriend wants us to buy small trophies so that we can have a sort of competition of the trucks/Toyotas.

We still need to go out and place an order for 3 small trophies.
