BTW....Plan a trip up this way on the 3rd weekend of October. I'll save you a seat for the annual ride through Black Mountain Off Road Adventure Area! (Harlan Ky) You'll leave Texas and move up here after that!

Here's a question for the locals. I have been saving up some coin for my suspension and I'm torn on what to do. My budget is around $1200 to $1500. I could go up to $1700 with a little more patience and overtime. In our area we get some snow (though not much this year) all the trails I run are slow moving/rocks/mud ect. Daniel Boone mostly. I've been looking at Stage 1 Icon, non RR with a add a leaf and then in the future LR UCAS. Full OME with Dakars and LR UCAS at time of purchase. Fox 2.5 non RR fronts, 2.0 rears and add a leafs. Or doing the Fox 2.0 on the front and rear, add a leaf and UCAS if I need them. Here are my outcomes and concerns. I have the TRD baja/faux beadlock wheels and I'm keeping them and adding 285/75/16 Mastercraft Courser MXT's. I want to clear them well and have a low maintenance suspension. The idea of them rusting and no longer being adjustable and needing removed to be rebuilt every so often sounds horrible to me. I'd also like to maintain a stock yet firmer rider but I don't want my teeth jarred out of my head on long trips and I want something that will last. Given my situation what would you guys go with? What are you running and what do you wish you had done differently? I had 5100s on my old Tacoma and Icon AAL and it rode decent but I needed UCAs badly. My FJ had the Toytec Ultimate kit on it and I liked the way it rode and handled but it's kinda apple and oranges in the rear.

I think it was on an episode of American pickers. They placed an old mill stone on his property or something

I do work in Louisville now :fenforcer:

Speaking of which. Was leaving the bar Wednesday night with two of my buddies. Walk behind a Walgreens through the drive-thru area and a car full of Louisville's finest citizens drive up from behind to come around us. One of them is hanging out the window yelling something at us then pops a round off from a handgun and speeds off . This was in the Highlands too. Between Bardstown Rd and Baxter Ave which is a fairly nice part of town.

Welcome to the big city! 117 murders last year, they have to work to keep up the quota.

Nope... just nope. My days of getting shot at are over and I have no desire to get killed in my home state. I have a buddy that is a Louisville Metro officer and some of the stuff he deals with blows my mind. Supposedly alot of it directly linked to people moving to Louisville from Chicago and Detroit. Little old Lexington is getting bad. It use to be a very safe city and now everytime you turn the news on someone had been shot.

It was wild for sure. Really made me realize you can get yourself in a lot of trouble just about anywhere. Gotta be very aware of your surroundings. And this was on a Wednesday night, wtf?

Northern Lexington off I-75 on Georgetown road. It's just north of the 75/64 split. Really easy to get to and they have some great BBQ.

Sounds like a plan! Not too far for us to drive. Got a few Lexington/Richmond area folks on here too.
