Seems like a good deal. Another member referred me to "The Fly Stop", which has pretty cheap flies and of decent/good quality. I try to find a balance between buying cheap flies and going to the fly shop since it is hard to pay ~$2 plus for every fly. There is only one shop near me and if anyone is ever near Hickory, NC, be sure to go see Dave Hise at Caster's Fly Shop. He is full of knowledge and is an endorsed guide and fly tier for Orvis. Great guy

I've had my eye on a Filson jacket for years. They send me propaganda all the time. The damn thing is nearly 700 bucks. I don't have one. I believe you get what you pay for. I still own the North Face mummy bag I bought in 1973, when I was a kid. Earned the money doing odd jobs. It's been back to the factory once for refurb at no charge. I think you're right about the Seattle lumberjack crap. That same shit happened to several companies I was loyal to, no longer.

Don't think that is off topic, to be well rounded goes beyond fly fishing for trout there is also the dog and upland hunting. And Archery for big game. For what ever reason the 3 seem to go together and many of us that grew up with trout, grouse and whitetail are involved in all of them. Nice limit of grouse and beautiful dog!

I don't tie as much as I used to and every time I get an email from Dan at flydeal he seems to suck me right in. Not that I am complaining, pleased with the flies, and the price.

I don't tie. No time. Whenever I travel to a spot, I stop at the local fly shop to give them my business. I fish saltwater flats sometimes, so I'll buy online for those at places that specialize. They are good flies. Not cheap. I'll still buy some trout flies online if I know them to be reputable. I once lost the Brown trout hog of a lifetime on the McCloud River when an online purchased fly broke at the bend of the hook.

Sadly, it's happened/happening to LL Bean as well. They are building a new facility to keep up with demand for the LL Bean hunting boot.....being sold primarily to the "lumber sexual" crowd.

Used to archery hunt for deer years ago, but since I've had dogs it's all been about fly-fishing and upland & waterfowl hunting!

    2 out of 3 ain't bad!

I have a Darton 50MX the first 50% let off hunting compound made. Only bow I've ever owned and the curator at the Pope & Young HQ and museum in Chatfield, Mn. asked me last summer if I would donate it, which I likely will. Took down my target butts when the youngest son left the house. You know your getting old when a museum asks you for donations of your personal gear. He asked if I had any treebark camo to donate. Why yes I do :anonymous:

They're the worst kinda worst. I think it's extremely funny seeing dude walk around in Iron Rangers with chick jeans cuffed up to the top of them and stupid beards. I'm sure the closest thing to ever being outdoors is the free range grass fed organic vegan friendly non GMO 20$ cup of coffee they're drinking.

I lose faith in humanity a little more each day.

Caught this little guy on my Tenkara Rod Co. Teton rod. First fish ever on a fly rod. My cousin and I decided to just go for it with fly fishing and tenkara was the least expensive entry point. We went to some local municipal park in town and walked up and down a very shallow creek.

I think it's a blue sunfish. Can anyone confirm?

Sunnies on the fly are addicting in the summer. I have a pond 3 minutes down the road from me in an industrial park thats full of em the size of dinner plate. They hammer foam hoppers all summer long

Getting closer to being done! Getting excited to IMG_20170202_010729.jpg fish out of it!

My only problem is deciding how to paint it. There are some real cool styles out there!

I can't confirm the catch but I am wondering how are you liking the Teton? I just picked one up and haven't had a chance to use it yet. Your fly fishing addiction has begun!

Another rainy and windy day here so I have to get my fishbuzz from last seasons trip pics. Upper Owens River. After all of the rain and snow the Sierra's have been getting, I can't wait to see this area in the Spring!
