Ive had the same concerns with my 1st gen 2.7l... Wanting an AT 265/75r16 but trying to keep the weight down for mpg and strain on the engine/trans and here what me and my fear of buyers remorse found - Im sure ive missed a few but im looking for more of an aggresive AT and may end up with the Walmart Authority cause it gets good reviews and its a hard deal to pass... Hope this helps someone if not you..!!

I will add that im currently running 265/70r16 Hankook ATMs and have been extremely happy with them... Only time i had concerns was on ice and slushy snow on the hwy, other than that its a great tire on and off road.... They now have 40k on them and still 7/32 tread left..!

    Wheels - Countersteer - 20 lbs

SCS F5s - 19 lbs (love the F5s and by all accounts Vin is a great guy to deal with)

Tires < 50 lbs - Amazed more sites dont list weight specs..

    Tires listed are all 265/75r16

Falken AT3W and Toyo AT2 would be good options. I have the AT3W's and they have performed very well in a variety of conditions. They perform well in the dirt, are good in the snow, and very quiet on the street.

In truth I am still deciding between the Firestone Destination AT and the Toyo Open Country AT2. My truck is still about a month away from delivery. I've always aimed to keep my tire and wheel set up light on all of my trucks. Somewhere along the way i convinced myself it makes a difference. does it really? who knows but as I drive I like the feeling of knowing i am helping my engine, brakes, etc out as much as possible. The Destination AT's will probably get the nod based on weight alone. 41 lbs vs 48 for the same size Toyo. Options are limited for me since I want a P rated 285. I've had Destination AT tires and Toyo AT2's - both excellent tires.

Low rolling resistance and tire mass are not exactly linear. I've ran lighter tires that actually reduced fuel economy. A tire that is much truer in its shape will typically reduce rolling resistance and typically require less mass to balance.

I had those Kumho's.they lasted like 60,000 miles and were one of the lighter tires.had raceline 16X8.really didn't hurt the mileage I could tell.

You might want to doublecheck this info, some of it is definitely not correct. Cooper at3 and terra trac at2 are 46lbs each in load c, according to their own websites, not the 40 you listed. Also, it appears that kelly has discontinued the load c version of the safari tsr, but there may still be some stock out there.

Also, something to keep in mind is that most p-rated versions have shallower tread depth than their c or e rated counterparts.

Thanks for that.. Im not guaranteeing these are 100% correct... There was definitely conflicting info on some of these tires (example Cooper St Maxx ive seen go anywhere from 49 to 54 lbs depending on the site... I was being optimistic cause i like them) and i didnt cross reference every single tire... Just the ones im really interested in ... Should also be noted there is no weight specs for the GY Authority on Walmarts site... Im going by a guy who weighed his on his "super accurate" home scale on a TW forum somewhere... Ive written Wally but hes left me hangin

If you find any other discrepancies just let me know...or if you want to add a tire...

Im more than happy to edit and make this list as accurate as possible

You could go for a 245 70 16 KO2, D rated, its 44 pounds, good everywhere. You will be only 1/2 inch less in height.

Personally I'd run the original tire size or a mild increase in size. If you go up in size then you will need to remember the speedometer will be off as will the odometer. You can run a Hypertech in-line speedometer calibrator to correct the speedometer and odometer.

    My 01 came with factory 225/70/16, 245/70/16, and 265/70/16

All these different tire size came on same body and same engine. Only difference was if it was TRd and option packages

Thus I run the 225/70 which is 28 inches while most others run 30-31 inches

I have only had these wheels and tires for a little while but the tires are great so far, people seem to love them.

Sadly the size should be programmable if it was an option but Toyota refuses to reprogram the PCM for the correction.

Those Hankook AT/M tires are well liked that's for sure. They are about as aggressive as some old Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure that I had on my 01 Dodge Ram. They were good wearing tires for my high powered diesel. They were pretty poor in any soft soil though. I put 20k miles on them with several burnouts and had 10/32 left on them when I traded the truck.

    Wow I really like them

    What brand and size wheels

    What size tires

Because it looks like tires stick out a bit but also look narrow

Tires are 265/75 16, wheels are 16x8 ATX Mojaves, should have mentioned I am running 1.25" spacers as well.

+1 for the P rated DynaPros ATm for lightweight AT tires. Had them for 2 years.

Nope no pics without them, have had the spacers on for years, needed them with my last set of wheels.
