I know it's more than just you who have tried to have the trd flash done after bd tuner, my question is has anyone tried to have them flash for a model year higher? I only ask because my dad has a trd sc 2011, but I noticed on his ultragauge I had to input different parameters as if it is a 12-15 truck. My thought being that maybe his ecu was flashed to a 2012 flash instead of a 2011 since he had it installed at 15,000 miles. Just a thought, not sure if the techsteam will even let you maybe his ecu was just picky with the ultragauge.

The way to tell which flash the truck has is to look at the data on the ECU.

I hope it doesn't take that long. Was told 8-12 weeks. But we shall see.

Same here. Ordered the basic pro with no extra options. I don't really care for anything they had to offer. More of a want then need on any of options. I can live without them.

Right. Short term keeps close to 0 and long term is 17-18 all the time. It will not learn anything anymore if the short time is 0.

Edit: now it throwed P0101 code (airmass meter range out). I'll check it when I have time, I have an other one too for testing.

Maybe this is the reason, I have the "newer type" TRD CAI: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-cai-and-supercharger-are-not-compatible.261803/
Fuel trims were just fine before with the Unichip, I have to try download right map for it (now it's disconnected).

Edit2: seems like Gadget knows this (too): http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/foru...rd-cai-supercharger-installs.html#post1837905

I remember reading that before buying my AFe intake. The consensus was that if the pipe diameter near the MAF was too big, the MAF reads less air so the ECU injects less fuel.

On my truck with the initial Bully Dog tune, it had the MAF error with the stock intake. I later swapped to the AFe and the error continued. Since the dealer 'tried' to TRD flash the ECU, that issue never happened again. I think the AFe pipe is properly sized so the MAF readings do not get skewed.

What have you done to your truck lately
When I was running that TRD intake it was throwing a code come to find out the the pipe going to the air flow mass was too long had to cut it, was blocking one of the hoses on the red coupler. Now no problems but this was on a Tacoma don't if your FJ would be the same.

That intake is garbage anyways. You couldn't pay me to put that on my truck.

Nice! Mine is going on next week. Does the throttle body help the blower? Which tune are you using?

It's 11mm bigger then stock. Should help it breath better. Got the throttle body for free so had to buy the adapter. Gonna be running the trd flash. Possible mafcal down the road.

Nice hope your enjoying the cold and the snow. I'm in southern Maine. There's barely any snow. Going way up north in a couple weekends to go snowmobiling.

Yea, there's about 1-2 feet of snow around Greenville! I've never seen so many snowmobiles! Then again, I'm from KY.
    Thanks!

Here's the thing we've discussed before- the 76mm TB is great fo extra flow but if you aren't using an intake with the matching ID to the TB, it's wasted money. Your butt dyno is gonna feel more power, but all you've done is made the TB wider. I think I also read that you need to bore out the SC inlet a bit to match the TB

Sorry to derail the CAI discussion, I'm gonna vent a little.

Here's my observation about my truck. Its like theres a bad spot mid range. It rhns stoich a lot but I can getthe AFR to dip down into the 11's and 12's in the lower rpm's but as soon as it its that bad spot it'll go way lean (16's). If I get past it by giving it more throttle it will eventually go back into the 12's. Theres no avoiding the bad spot though. Every time I get on the interstate it hits that spot hard.

Sounds like it could be another problem in the trick bag.

I feel your pain. I am hoping that the afr cal will fix mine when i finally get a chance to install and set up. Wish i had just done the trd flash from the get go and avoided all these issues
